UK wrestlers El Ligero and Joe Coffey have both mentioned that the 10th June event to kick off the 5* Wrestling 128 man tournament has been cancelled. 5* Wrestling are the company that allegedly offered CM Punk $1 million to wrestle in the tournament, as we reported on tpww.net, but at this juncture it looks like they may not have been in a position to offer that.
In the exact same boat as my caped crusader pal. https://t.co/MA5ahWwIHI

Due to the cancellation of 5 Star Wrestling, I now have next Saturday (10th June) available for bookings. Any retweets are appreciated.

The tournament itself has booked some of the biggest arenas in the UK and the tournament was due to be broadcast on Spike UK showing real ambition and having a roster of Rob Van Dam, Johnny Mundo (John Morrison), Carlito, Rey Mysterio and Moose, they may have thought that name value would have moved more tickets.
5* Wrestling have not officially cancelled the event yet so it is unknown if it’s just the Liverpool date or the full tournament, but we’ll post more when we know more. They’re still taking bookings on tickets as of the time of this posting.
UPDATE: Looking through Twitter, it looks like the booked talent are now being informed of the reason and Maffew of Botchamania fame has said that all the shows are “postponed” and this is due to the Manchester suicide attacks… Somehow. Even though they’re not in Manchester until December.
OH IT GETS WORSE 5 Star Wrestling's reason for all the UK shows being ''postponed'' is due to the Manchester bombings.

Pretty sure if this is all true, then the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic for 2017 has been decided.
