John Cena will have a prominent role in the movie “Daddy’s Home 2,” according to Deadline. The movie is in pre-production and will begin shooting soon and is currently scheduled for a November 10 release date.
Cena is also set to begin shooting the movie “The Pact” soon, which was the original reason for his scheduled absence from WWE after WrestleMania. With prominent roles in two movies, it seems like he may be away for at least a month or two.
More about the movie, via Deadline:
He joins Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, Linda Cardellini, Owen Vaccaro and Scarlett Estevez in the Paramount comedy. In the sequel, father and stepfather, Dusty (Wahlberg) and Brad (Ferrell), are now working together to give their kids a perfect Christmas. When Dusty’s Dad (Gibson) and Brad’s Dad (Lithgow) arrive, their blended family conflicts rise to the surface. Cena’s character shifts the macho dynamics as Dusty faces the challenges of being a stepfather in the face of a more ripped rival.
Plot line of The Pact, according to IMDb: “Three fathers try to stop their daughters from having sex on prom night.” That is currently scheduled for an April 20, 2018 release.
