Backstage Updates – Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar ‘All But Confirmed’

UPDATED x 2: According to Dave Meltzer, a deal for a Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match “is all but confirmed” for the WWE Survivor Series PPV on November 20th in Toronto. There had been rumors that the deal had been completed over the weekend, and WWE sources have told Meltzer that, “a match was either finalized or at least in heavy negotiations.” Numerous sources have also stated that the Goldberg vs. Lesnar match is the plan for the show.

UPDATE: Goldberg has been open to a WWE offer, but that it was not something that he was perusing. He was also shocked that WWE signed off on him being in the WWE 2K17 game, because they had vetoed it in the past.

ORIGINAL: Jim Ross says that there may be a match in the works between Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg at Survivor Series. JR discussed the possibility in his latest Ross Report, saying the match is being seriously discussed for either Survivor Series or WrestleMania, but that it is just a rumor at this time although it came from trusted and typically-reliable sources. Ross then doubled down on the claim, posting to Twitter:

Goldberg is set to discuss his WWE status Wednesday on SportsCenter with Jonathan Coachman. It’s worth noting that he posted the following after JR posted his tweet:
