As previously reported, Alberto Del Rio is on his way out of the WWE. Del Rio was originally promised a big push and a position as a Heyman guy on screen, and when that did not happen, Del Rio became frustrated with his creative direction, leading to him giving WWE notice. Del Rio last wrestled on August 16th, losing to John Cena on Smackdown; he was then suspended for 30-days for a violation of the WWE Wellness policy.
According to the WON, Del Rio is free at the end of this month to work anywhere in the United States and is able to now take bookings outside of the U.S. There is a lot of interest in Del Rio, despite how he left prior to his WWE return (never dropping the title); AAA is very interested in Del Rio returning. There have also been talks of Del Rio returning to Lucha Underground when they film season four. TNA was interested in the past, but they may not have the money to bring him in. He has also had talks with NJPW, but the reports says that it may not go anywhere because Del Rio is not interested in doing long New Japan tours.
