UPDATE: According to sources, Cesaro’s rant during his interview with JoJo about being drafted to RAW and the amount of focus being placed on Commissioners and General Managers was indeed a shoot. As you’d imagine, there are some members of WWE management who weren’t pleased with the promo while others (mostly talent) gave him “kudos and respect” for “having the balls” to speak up. Cesaro has reportedly been “frustrated” with his WWE position for awhile now and things boiled over during the WWE Draft.
We hope to have more shortly.
ORIGINAL: Last weekend, touring announcements for after the draft featured Cesaro on SmackDown, along with Enzo and Cass. They were featured on Tour 1, which was SmackDown, with RAW as Tour 2. All of the other names were in line with the draft except for those three.
WWE previously posted a video of Cesaro before the draft, in which he said he was hoping to be on SmackDown. He said that with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon in charge, SmackDown will focus on wrestling and talent. He called RAW “the bad guy show”. Later on, he was pinned clean by Chris Jericho and was the 28th draft pick, selected for RAW.
During the post-draft show on the WWE Network, he seemed upset with where he was drafted. Here are highlights of an interview with JoJo, which you can see below:
“Just looking at the rosters and what the GMs talked about yesterday how SmackDown is going to be the wrestling show and all about in-ring product and all about the Superstars and not necessarily about the GMs and that whole drama, I feel like I probably would have been a better fit for SmackDown. But just like in my career so far here, there’s always a little stumble block or whatever that I have to overcome, so, um… I’m looking forward to being on the flagship product… trying to see the positive, being on the flagship product, WWE Raw, that’s where Cesaro belongs. I think Raw going forward needs to be about the Superstars, it needs to be about the performers in the ring and not about how Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley co-exist. They need to be there to mediate and make the best show, but that does not need to be the focus. So, the focus should be on the Superstar who got drafted. We have Seth Rollins, we have New Day, we have Finn Bálor coming up from NXT – those are the people we should be here talking about. But we’re talking about Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley which is annoying to me.”
WWE never uploaded Cesaro’s promo to their Youtube channel like others on the show.

Sasha Banks replied to Cesaro’s interview on Twitter:

It should also be noted that WWE had Cesaro’s information wrong on the show, citing him as 280 pounds (he’s normally billed around 232 lb), listing his WWE debut as 1999 (he debuted in 2012) and stating he was a 9-time tag team champion (he’s only held the tag titles once).
