Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens Segment

We go live into the arena to see Dean Ambrose making his way to the ring. In the ring, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, and Kevin Owens are standing on ladders. Kevin Owens goes first as he talks about how the other five men will make history as the ones that lose to him when he grabs the Money in the Bank briefcase. Owens will then give matches to anyone – not the guys in the ring – like Waylon Mercy or The Four Horsemen. Sami Zayn then criticizes him and says he’ll take on all comers if he can cash in on the opportunity the briefcase affords. He’ll offer a match to anyone in the ring or in the back. He’ll pay it forward. Dean Ambrose says they’ve established their differences. Ambrose says he’ll fight anyone, even polar bears or aliens. Ambrose wants to get to fighting. Alberto Del Rio tells them to shut up. They keep talking about being champion, but Owens and Zayn have never been one. Compared to them, they’re just dogs covered in fleas. They’re just paperboys. Cesaro goes to start talking, but Chris Jericho cuts him off. Jericho says he’ll throw him into the audience with the rest of the Cesaro Section. Jericho says he created the match and is an expert in it. Cesaro asks why he never won one. Jericho says he has won one, but he stumbles when trying to identify where he won it and when. Jericho says it was in Stupid-Idiot-Ville, which starts a “Stupid Idiot” chant. Cesaro says that must be his hometown, but Jericho responds by saying, “I’m from Winnipeg, you idiot.” Jericho says being in the match with him, one of the greatest of the generation, puts them at a different level. Jericho closes his eyes and lets them drink in the gift of Jericho.

They all get off their ladders while Jericho is doing this. Ambrose climbs Jericho’s ladder and punches him off. Owens and Zayn go at it on the floor as Cesaro attacks Jericho. Ambrose and Del Rio also brawl.

This leads to Teddy Long’s music hitting, and the former General Manager of Smackdown makes his way to the stage. Long talks about Smackdown going live and stumbles over saying it’s one of the longest running shows like he did last year in a well known blooper. Long says he would take all of them and make a Disqualification Match and starts going crazy with stipulation matches. Stephanie McMahon comes out and asks what he’s doing here. Long calls her “baby girl,” and she says she is not his baby girl. Long says Smackdown is going live and he wants to run the show. She says they’re not making that decision tonight. Long wants to talk to Shane McMahon, but she says he’s on vacation. She then kicks him out with no music. Stephanie then puts the six men in singles matches. Sami Zayn will take on Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens will take on Dean Ambrose, and Cesaro will take on Chris Jericho, next. She then dances to Teddy Long’s music.

Cesaro goes for the Cesaro Swing, but Jericho counters into an inside cradle for a near fall. John Cena & The Club Segment

John Cena makes his way to the ring. Replays are shown of AJ Styles and The Club attacking Cena last week on RAW. Cena says you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. We had passion and electricity. Last week, he and Styles were in the ring looking eye-to-eye. That’s a moment that happens once in a generation. Usually we have a rowdy Monday Night RAW crowd like this one (that got a light response from this tough crowd), and sometimes we have a “Let’s go Cena/Cena sucks” chant. That kicks up. Half of them have his back, and half doesn’t want him back. For two and a half minutes, they had Cena and Styles chants. Cena then gets that going. Cena says he’s only had electricity like that once before with The Rock. The Rock and AJ Styles had very different career paths, but that didn’t change the energy. A lot of people didn’t think that would happen. For fifteen years, people asked, “What if?” We were finally going to get that answer, but now he needs an answer to another question: “Why, AJ, why?” Why the hell did he take the easy way out? Now what we have is a chance for AJ Styles to explain himself. Cena then calls him out to the ring.

AJ Styles comes out to a good reception with The Club behind him. A loud “AJ Styles” chant breaks out. They let it go out a little bit. Cena says the excitement is there. Why did he go back with his junkies from The Bullet Club? Styles says he had a plan. He wanted to shake his hand, look him right in the eyes, and punch him right in the face. The crowd boos that. It worked to perfection. Styles says Cena insults him. Cena is great on the microphone, the morning and late night shows, and movies – well, the one he has cameos in at least. Cena insults him every time the bell rings. Styles says he knows that it burns Cena up inside to know that he can’t beat him. Styles mocks the “You can’t see me” taunt. Styles repeats the same thing he tells his kids when they ask why he hasn’t faced Cena: it’s because he would run circles around him.

Cena says he can’t believe Styles had fifteen years to come up with insults and that’s the best he could do. It’s the same thing every other person says when they meet him face-to-face. Cena says his jokes are as outdated as his jorts. Cena says he sees a man who worked two decades to try to make it and finally got a surprise entrance in the Royal Rumble and did nothing. Then he was gifted an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and failed twice. Instead of shaking it off, he second guessed himself. A lot of people have told him he’s God’s gift to sports-entertainment, and he’s been a bust. Styles looked to the one guy that could save his ass and make him feel like he belongs. Cena says that isn’t phenomenal – that’s desperate. Styles couldn’t get past Roman Reigns and now he’s trying him? Styles doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.

Styles tells him to back it up. Styles says he’s not desperate. He’s been all over the world. Desperate is for people that have nowhere to go. It doesn’t matter where he goes. They would welcome him back. It doesn’t matter if it’s Osaka or Tokyo, Japan – he’d sell them out in a second because that’s what happens when he steps in the ring. Styles says he has nothing else to prove. Unfortunately for Cena, he has nothing to lose. The guy in the fight with nothing to lose is the most dangerous. Cena says he knows that because he has nothing to lose every time he steps in the ring. Cena asks why it is him versus The Club. Styles says everyone that knows this place knows that if you lose to Cena, you can get the shovels out because you’ll be buried. The Club is there as an insurance policy to keep his head above ground. The Club goes down to the ring and surrounds Cena. Cena prepares for a fight. The Club puts up the clique signal and start to get in the ring, but they bail out when The New Day runs down. The Club leaves the ring as The New Day stands tall with Cena.

Tom Philips catches up with Sami Zayn backstage and asks if he feels like he’s the underdog in the match against Alberto Del Rio. Zayn says he is the underdog. Del Rio is the only one in the match that has won the Money in the Bank contract and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. A win tonight would prove that he belongs. Alberto Del Rio walks up and says he has big dreams of winning the contract and the title. That would make Zayn’s life mean something. All those people that doubted him and laughed at him would be proven wrong. They would be right. Winning the contract is for men like him, not Zayn. Zayn’s dreams are his reality. Del Rio says he’s a dog and a paperboy before walking off.

Some more tweets from WWE personalities are shown honoring Muhammad Ali. A picture of Hulk Hogan and Ali is prominently shown.

Stephanie McMahon is backstage texting when Teddy Long walks up listening to his theme song. Long says if he were running things, he’d have Enzo and Big Cass take on The Vaudevillains, Gallows and Anderson, and The New Day in a Fatal Four Way for the WWE Tag Team Championships. She asked how he got past security. Long takes out a dollar and says, “The dollar-dollar makes you holla-holla.” She asks him to leave. She then calls marketing and books the exact match Long just suggested.

Ambrose asks if he was off when he beat him for the Intercontinental Championship last year. When Owens loses the briefcase and is sulking, will he still be off? Owens says he needs help.
