“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
A video highlights the events from last night’s Royal Rumble match. The WWE World Heavyweight Championship was on the line in that match. Roman Reigns was entered in at the number one spot. Triple H came in at number thirty and eliminated Roman Reigns. Triple H then eliminated Dean Ambrose to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The Authority reigns supreme.
We see a shot of the crowd in Miami. They look fired up. Vince McMahon’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage nearly skipping arm in arm with his daughter, Stephanie McMahon. McMahon tells the booing crowd to shut up. Stephanie says the crowd doesn’t listen ever. McMahon says it’s the day after the Royal Rumble, and he’s feeling damn good. McMahon doesn’t care how the crowd is feeling. All that matters is they’re feeling good. The reason why he’s feeling good is that while Roman Reigns is one tough son of a bitch, they broke him in half. They pierced his heart, took his championship, and made him just like everyone else. Just like everyone else in the crowd that has failed, Reigns is putting his tail between his legs and whimpering. They stay that way. Once you’re broken, you stay that way. McMahon says he’s not here tonight to gloat or praise his son in law. He’s here to make a confession, his first one ever in WWE. The crowd is giving him the “WHAT” treatment. McMahon confesses that he enjoys the misfortune and misery of others, which is why he loves coming out every week because that’s how the crowd is. No one is more miserable than Reigns. Reigns will stay that way.
Stephanie says if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. That’s what they did last night. They pulled one of the biggest coups in WWE history. Everyone thought Reigns would come back from all the adversity and come back to win. If not Reigns, maybe Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, or AJ Styles. McMahon gives a big guffaw. Stephanie says it’s a pipe dream. They live in a fantasy world. They had the crowd eating out of their hands because they knew number thirty would be “The Game,” Triple H. An “AJ Styles” chant breaks out. McMahon says if the people were in the ring with them, they’d wind up on the bottom of his shoe. Stephanie says no one holds a candle to her husband. Her husband works harder than anyone on the roster. He’s a businessman. Not only is he the Cerebral Assassin and the greatest WWE superstar in history, he is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He is the standard bearer and measuring stick. No one can hold a candle to her man. She then introduces her husband.
Triple H’s music hits, and he comes out in a buttoned up suit. Triple H then unbuttons the jacket and opens it to reveal the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H laughs and takes the title off to hold it up as he makes his way to the ring. Triple H poses in the ring with the championship before taking a bottle of water from his wife and doing his water mist pose. McMahon says, “Bow down to the king!” The crowd boos them. Triple H says it’s good to be the king. Triple H wants to give props to one person from last night. That one person is Roman Reigns. Reigns could be one of the most amazing athletes he’s ever seen. Reigns could be that good, but today he is not. There’s a reason for that because Reigns lacks one thing: respect. Reigns is arrogant and cocky. Reigns is great, but he needs to learn his place in life. He could put up with the fact that he thought he was better and his disregard of authority. What he couldn’t put up with was his disrespect for Vince McMahon. As far as everyone should be concerned, McMahon is god because he created this company. This business until his dying breath is his religion. He’ll be damned if Reigns will disrespect him or his religion.
A lot of people will ask why he needs to be the WWE Champion. Triple H says his time has passed. His career is second to none. It’s a Hall of Fame career. He made the successful transition to the boardroom. Triple H says he doesn’t needs to be WWE Champion, but he wants to be WWE Champion. The reason he wants to be champion is because people like Roman Reigns want to be WWE Champion, and they don’t deserve it. Up until he says so, he will be the WWE Champion. Until everyone out here and back there learns respect, he will be WWE Champion because he says so and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it, including Roman Reigns. Triple H says he’ll be champion – he’s cut off by a “Roman” chant. Triple H says people like that and Reigns will either conform or cease to exist.
Stephanie asks who he will teach a lesson in respect to at WrestleMania. Stephanie says tonight’s RAW will be action packed. They will evaluate every WWE superstar. At the end of the night, they’ll announce the main event of Fastlane. The winner of that main event will face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Stephanie says, “Believe that!” The Authority’s music plays, and they smile triumphantly in the ring.
Michael Cole, JBL, and Byron Saxton talk about what just happened. Cole then talks about the tweet WWE put out about a major superstar returning to RAW. They wonder who it could be.
Tonight, we’ll see AJ Styles take on Chris Jericho!

The commentators talk about how The Authority has to be impressed with this match. Replays are shown of the final moments of the match.
Ambrose goes outside and starts dismantling the commentary tables. Reigns throws Rusev into the steel steps as Ambrose rearranges the furniture. Reigns and Ambrose then give Rusev a vicious double powerbomb through the commentary table!
Stephanie McMahon’s music hits, and she comes out to the stage. Stephanie says that was impressive. Since The Authority always does what’s best for business, she has a big announcement to make. Earlier tonight, she said her husband would be defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the winner of the main event at Fastlane. That main event will be a triple threat match between Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and “The Beast” Brock Lesnar! Reigns and Ambrose look a little upset by that news as the show comes to an end.
