UPDATE: As noted below, AJ Styles was back in action at the New Japan Pro Wrestling Power Struggle event, teaming with his fellow Bullet Club member Bad Luck Fale against Toru Yano and Yoshi-Hashi. Styles and Fale were victorious. Styles recently took time off due to a “sciatic nerve problem,” and he had to be removed from a set of ROH tapings. Styles reportedly needed some time away from the ring because bumps were aggravating the nerve issue. Styles is expected to be back in ROH for Final Battle in December.
While Styles’ match last night was said to be relatively short, Styles reportedly looked to be in good condition and took various bumps in the ring as well as some high spots. He appeared later in the show during the main event to set up his upcoming match with Shinsuke Nakamura.
