WWE Payback 2015 PPV Opener:
After the usual bad ass video package opener, we shoot live into the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland for tonight’s WWE Payback pay-per-view.
Michael Cole welcomes us to the show and then Sheamus’ theme music hits. Our first WWE Payback pay-per-view match is about to get underway.
Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
Sheamus makes his way to the ring and after that, Dolph Ziggler’s theme music hits and out he comes. Highlights are shown of the “Kiss Me Arse” match from Extreme Rules.
The bell sounds and here we go. Early on, surprisingly enough, Ziggler is in control, as he has Sheamus selling his knee. Sheamus eventually ovrturns the control but it doesn’t last long, as Ziggler starts stringing together another offensive series.
While Ziggler was in control of the offense for a long enough time, he got Sheamus in the corner and wiped his face all over his ass. Sheamus rolled out to the floor and sold it big time. Back in the ring, Ziggler hits the FameAsser for the close nearfall.
Sheamus staets blasting the hell out of Ziggler and now Ziggler is bleeding like crazy. The blood is believed to be from a head butt. The action is stopped to check the cut. Once the action resumes, Sheamus immediately blasts Ziggler with a Brogue Kick for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Sheamus
Backstage: Kane & Seth Rollins
Backstage, Kane sees Seth Rollins and J&J Security approach him. Rollins asks Kane to forget their differences and cooperate tonight. Kane refuses. He and Rollins argue back and forth. Kane says Rollins gets his wish, if he wins, Kane is no longer Director of Operations, but if he doesn’t, Kane gets his wish and Rollins loses the WWE title.
2-Out-Of-3 Falls WWE Tag-Team Titles: The New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro
The New Day comes out and one-by-one they each address the fans in Baltimore. The fans chant “New Day-sucks! New Day-sucks!” They trash one of the Baltimore Orieals in the crowd.
Out next is Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, accompanied by Natalya, for this two-out-of-three falls WWE Tag-Team title match. The bell sounds and here we go. Big E. and Kofi Kingston are representing The New Day as champions in this one.
The New Day controls the action early on, but in the end, Kidd nails Kingston, Cesaro follows up with big the Big Swing into a Kidd dropkick for the 1-2-3. Kidd and Cesaro win the first fall.
After a lengthy back-and-forth second fall, with Kidd isolated in the action by the two active members of the New Day. Eventually, The New Day hits a big double team move for the 1-2-3. The falls are now 1-1. Next fall wins.
The two teams gio back and forth again, with Kidd and Cesaro hitting the coolest set of double-team moves — possibly of all-time. In the end, Cesaro is knocked down and robbed, as Xavier Woods, who wasn’t legally in the match, jumps in when the ref wasn’t looking and rolls him up for the 1-2-3 and the final fall, retaining the titles for The New Day.
Winners 2-1 and STILL WWE Tag-Team Champions: The New Day
Bray Wyatt vs. Ryback
After a particularly kick-ass video package, Bray Wyatt makes his way to the ring for his one-on-one contest with Ryback.
Ryback comes out next, the bell sounds and here we go. Early on, Ryback uses his strength to dominate the methodical Bray Wyatt.
After a few minutes of domination, Wyatt turns the tables by simply launching himself into Ryback off the ropes, similar to a brutal sack in football.
Wyatt gets Ryback to the floor and works him over out there, Wyatt dives off the apron and flips onto Ryback on the floor, Ryback screams in pain.
A Cena-like “let’s go Wyatt” and “Wyatt sucks” dueling chant breaks out. Ryback hits Wyatt with a big splash off the top rope for a close nearfall.
Wyatt goes for Sistai Abigail, but Ryback reverses into a Shellshock attempt. Wyatt escapes and slams Ryback into a turnbuckle with the padding exposed, right into a Sister Abigail. 1-2-3. Wyatt wins.
Winner: Bray Wyatt
I Quit Match — WWE U.S. Title
– John Cena (c) vs. Rusev
A cool video package plays hyping up the circumstances leading into tonight’s WWE Payback pay-per-view between John Cena and Rusev. With that said, Rusev makes his way out. Out next to a mixed-bag reaction is John Cena.
The fans loudly chant “Let’s Go Cena!” and “Cena sucks!” back-and-forth. Rusev tells Cena half the fans already hate him. He offers Cena the option to say he quits now to spare him the pain. Cena answers by attacking Rusev.
We’re off and running and it doesn’t take long before Rusev is in control. The fans chant “We Want Lana” so Rusev gets mad and leaves the ring and forces Lana to sit in a folding chair at the opposite end of the ring.
Twice now the referee has asked Cena if he wants to quit. The first time, Cena simply knocked the mic away. The second time, Cena said no. It happens a third time and Cena ignores it again, The fans begin their “We Want Lana” chants again.
There’s a lot of near quit spots with both guys refusing to quit no matter what, including Cena AA’ing Rusev into the stage where pyro exploded and then shot off like a bomb and Cena was suplexed into a giant section of unpadded steel barricade laid out diagnolly on the ring apron.
Rusev ends up choking Cena with The Accolade until he passes out. He celebrates like he won but the ref says he has to say I Quit. Rusev throws a fit and goes over and completely unscrews the top rope from around the entire ring.
Rusev goes to blast Cena with the turnbuckle steel from the top rope he unhooked, but Cena reverses and slaps Rusev in the STF, with the top rope around his throat. The referee asks if he quits. Rusev screams in Russian a lot but nothing happens. Finally, Lana grabs the mic freaking out telling the referee that he’s saying he quits. The bell sounds. Cena wins and retains the U.S. title.
Winner and STILL WWE U.S. Champion: John Cena

The Bella Twins vs. Tamina Snuka & Naomi
After that, The Bella Twins make their way to the ring. Out next are their opponents for tonight, Tamina Snuka and Naomi.
Nikki Bella and Naomi kick things off and Naomi takes over the offense early on. Nikki hits a high offensive move and tags in Brie.
Tamina and Naomi isolate Brie and dominate her for a while until she finally makes the tag to Nikki. Nikki works over Naomi for a bit but then Naomi reverses Nikki and dumps her off the top for the 1-2-3. Naomi wins.
Winners: Tamina Snuka & Naomi
Backstage: Rusev & Lana
Backstage, Rusev storms into a room and sees Lana sitting in a chair by herself. He yells at her in Bulgarian and then says in English to “get out.” He says it again in her face so she finally does.
“King” Bad News Barrett vs. Neville
“King” Bad News Barrett’s music hits and out he comes for our next match of the evening. Out next is his opponent, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville.
The bell sounds and here we go. Within moments, the larger Barrett is dominating what quickly becomes a very one-sided affair.
Neville finally got in some offense. The two end up out on the floor where Neville hits a big dive onto Barrett on the floor. Neville rolls back in the ring but Barrett, right at 9, decides to let the ref count ten. He pretends to walk away, but comes back after the “match” and brutally attacks Barrett.
Winner via Count Out: Neville
WWE Championship Fatal Fourway Match
– Seth Rollins (c) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Dean Ambrose
The video package for tonight’s main event airs. One-by-one, the competitors in tonight’s fatal four-way match make their way to the ring. Eden does the official introductions for all four guys.
The bell sounds and here we go. Kane and J&J Security are at ringside for this one. All four guys immediately go out to the floor to start the match and they take out J&J Security. They then proceed to hit big high spots oen after the other on the floor.
Ambrose and Reigns team up to work on Rollins for a bit, but ultimately it leads to nothing as Kane gets involved when the two try and put Rollins away for good.
The damage by Kane has been done and now the match is a more fair and balanced affair. Ambrose goes for the Dirty Deeds and this time blatantly Kane gets involved and chokeslams Ambrose right in the middle of the ring. Rollins tries to cover Ambrose but Ambrose kicks out at two.
Kane goes to get back in the ring but Orton and Reigns stop him. Orton then takes out Reigns and goes in after Rollins and Ambrose in the ring. He knocks Ambrose out of the ring and then goes to work on Rollins.
On the floor, all threre Shield members reunite for one big united triple powerbomb of Orton through the table. Rollins goes to do the fist pose with them but they stare him down and start beating him up now.
For quite a while it’s down to just Reigns and Ambrose in the ring. They shake hands, hug and say the loser buys beers. They go at it for a couple of minutes by themselves in the ring before everyone gets involved again, including Kane.
Orton RKOs everyone in sight and the crowd goes absolutely nuts. He’s got one RKO left and it’s Rollins. As he goes to hit it, Rollins pushes him into Kane, Orton RKOs Kane and turns arouns and tries to RKO Rollins, Rollins reverses and hits Orton with Triple H’s Pedigree for the 1-2-3. Rollins retains.
Winner and STILL WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Seth Rollins
