WWE RAW Opener:
This week’s show opens with a look at some of the past King Of The Ring tournament before making the official announcement that it is going to return this week. From there, the opening video plays.
Michael Cole welcomes us inside the arena in Green Bay, Wisconsin, then breaks down the King Of The Ring brackets. After that, Seth Rollins is introduced. Out comes the WWE Champion with J&J Security and Kane.
Rollins talks about still being champ after last night’s cage match with Randy Orton. He talks about some of his recent history. Rollins says he’s a fighting champion. Rollins says he beat Orton by himself. Kane looks puzzled in the background.
Rollins turns to Kane and starts to talk trash. Rollins talks about Kane being a hasbeen. Kane tells Rollins he cheated by using the banned RKO last night. He calls him a whiney brat.
As Rollins and Kane continue, out comes Randy Orton. Orton talks to the four from the top of the stage. He says Rollins using the RKO sounds like grounds for a rematch. Rollins says no. Orton says he wasn’t talking to him, he was talking to Kane.
Kane says Randy does have a point and then is interrupted by Roman Reigns, who makes his way out through the crowd. Reigns stands on the announce table and addresses Rollins. He says he deserves a title shot, telling Orton he had his chance.
Rollins tells Reigns and Orton that neither of them deserve a shot at his title. Kane tells Rollins that both guys make compelling arguments. He says they need to set aside their differences and show Orton and Reigns the real power of The Authority. He says there will be a tag-team match tonight. He also says by the end of the night, by way of fan vote, we will find out who Rollins will be defending the title against at Payback.
King Of The Ring
– Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett
When we return from the break, we go to the ring for our first King of the Ring match of the evening. Dolph Ziggler comes out and then Bad News Barrett makes his way out.
The bell sounds and here we go. Barrett controls the action early on as the fans cheer Ziggler on. We head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from the break we see Barrett is still in complete control. Ziggler hits a tornado DDT to turn the momentum, but it doesn’t last long as Barrett hits Ziggler with a Wasteland.
As the action continues, we hear Sheamus. Sheamus comes out and reminds Ziggler that he kissed his arse last night. When Ziggler turns around, boom, Barrett blasts him with a Bull Hammer Elbow. 1-2-3 Barrett wins and advances into the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
Winner: Bad News Barrett
Tyson Kidd vs. Big E.
The New Day make their way out and brag about winning the WWE tag-team titles last night. Out comes Tyson Kidd and Cesaro with Natalya. They enter the ring, the bell sounds and here we go.
Kidd and Big E. is the singles match that is taking place right now.
That one didn’t last long. Big E. blasts into Kidd and pins him. 1-2-3. That simple.
Winner: Big E.
Ryback vs. Bo Dallas
Ryback’s theme hits and out he comes. We go to commercial as Ryback is making his entrance. He will be in action next on RAW.
When we return from the break, Bo Dallas makes his way out to the ring. Dallas gets in the ring and offers Ryback an opportunity to walk away.
Ryback stays, the bell rings and here we go. Ryback immediately goes to work on the smaller man.
Ryback continues to dominate him in what has been a one-sided match. He hits him with the Shellshock and finishes him off. 1-2-3.
Winner: Ryback
After The Match: Bray Wyatt Attacks
After the match, while Ryback is standing in the ring, the lights go out. When they come back on, Bray Wyatt is standing in the ring. He hits him with Sister Abigail and kneels down and poses next to him. We head to another commercial.
John Cena & Rusev Interview
When we return from the commercial break, the WWE United States Champion John Cena makes his way out to the ring for an interview.
Cena says in case anyone missed his Russian chain match last night — the champ is still here. Cena talks about Lana getting an I-Quit match set for Payback between he and Rusev. He says Rusev gets his respect because he refuses to quit, but he will quit at Payback.
The fans chant “U.S.A.” Cena says his I Quit match with Rusev will be the final chapter of their rivalry. He promises he won’t say he quits.
Cena says while Rusev chooses to rest tonight, he chooses to fight. He issues a challenge for anyone to come fight him for the U.S. title.
Cena waits to find out who his opponent will be when Heath Slater’s theme hits and out he comes. Slater talks trash from the top of the stage when out of nowhere Rusev attacks him and lays him out from behind.
Out comes Lana with a mic but a pissed off Rusev takes the mic from her and tells her to go backstage. The fans chant “We Want Lana” as Rusev begins to speak. Rusev says all Americans are quitters and at Payback Cena will be one too.
Rusev’s theme hits again and the giant Russian flag drops down with Cena still standing in the ring.
Winner: No Contest
Backstage: Kane & Seth Rollins
Backstage, Seth Rollins talks to Kane. He says he’s not mad but why is he letting the fans decide who gets to fight him for his title at Payback. He asks Kane if he’s out of his mind. Kane gets in Rollins’ face. Rollins warns Kane that he’s gonna tell on him to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Kane says if Rollins is the man like he says, he shouldn’t have a problem with the fans deciding between one of two people. He says he can add another option. He says they can vote on the WWE App for Reigns, Orton or Reigns and Orton at the same time in a triple threat match. Rollins is all pissed off. We go to a break.
King Of The Ring
– R-Truth vs. Stardust
When we return, R-Truth raps his way out to the ring. It’s time for his King of the Ring match against Stardust, who makes his way out to the ring next.
Truth and Stardust immediately get after it as the bell sounds. Stardust takes control of the action for the first part of this match.
R-Truth is starting to make his comeback now, but Stardust cuts his attempt short. Truth starts fighting back again. It’s becoming a back-and-forth match now.
From out of nowhere, Truth hits his finsiher on Stardust and immediately covers him. 1-2-3. Truth wins and advances to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
Winner: R-Truth
Adam Rose vs. Fandango
When we return from the break, Fandango’s music hits and out he comes. Already in the ring is Fandango’s opponent for tonight, Adam Rose.
The bell sounds and here we go. Fandango takes control early on but then Rose starts taking over.
Rosa Mendes turns up as one of the Rosebuds. She tells Fandango she has found someone new. She starts making out with Rose intensely as Fandango watches on. Rose’s theme hits to end the match.
Winner: Adam Rose
Backstage: Renee Young Interviews Brie Bella
Renee Young says notwithstanding her match with Naomi tonight, she is also dealing with her husband Daniel Bryan’s health. She asks when he’ll be able to get back into the ring.
Brie says this has been a difficult time for Bryan. Naomi hits the scene and drops Brie with a punch. She tells her no one cares about her or her husband. We head to another break.
Naomi vs. Brie Bella
When we return from the break, Naomi’s music hits and out she comes. Already in the ring is her opponent for tonight, Brie Bella.
The bell sounds and here we go. We see Nikki Bella at ringside cheering on Brie. Naomi hits Brie with a cheap shot to start the match.
Naomi dominates Brie throughout the match. She lands a big jumping leg drop. Moments later she finishes her off with a big kick. 1-2-3.
Winner: Naomi
King Of The Ring
– Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus
Dean Ambrose makes his way out to to the ring for his King of the Ring match. We head to a mid-match commercial during his entrance.
When we return from the break, Sheamus’ music hits and out he comes. The bell sounds and here we go. Early on, both guys have their moments, but eventually Sheamus takes over. We head to a mid-match commercial.
We’re back from the commercial and the first thing we see is Sheamus still in easy control of the former Shield member. Ambrose finally starts fighting back.
Ambrose’s offensive run doesn’t last long as Sheamus takes back over control of the match. Ambrose starts fighting back, including hitting a big flying elbow smash off the top rope.
Sheamus rolls out to the floor. Ambrose comes after him. Ambrose runs off the announce table and blasts into Sheamus. He bounces his head off the steel post. Sheamus finally Brogue Kicks Ambrose down.
Dolph Ziggler comes running out and he attacks Sheamus. Sheamus retreats through the crowd. The ref calls for the bell. Michael Cole informs us that Sheamus wins via DQ and advances into the semi-finals of the King of the Ring. After the match we head to a break.
Winner: Sheamus
Damien Sandow & Curtis Axel Promo
When we return from the break we see highlights of what went down between Damien Sandow, The Miz and Summer Rae last Monday on RAW. After that, we return live in the arena where Damien Sandow is introduced. He is already standing in the ring.
Sandow asks to beg for our indulgence for one moment. He tells us his name is Damien Sandow. He tells us that he came to WWE in a blue robe looking to enlighten everyone. He says we all know how that worked. He says WWE told him he wasn’t entertaining enough.
The fans boo and Sandow says you said it not me. He runs through some of the gimmicks he had immitating various people over the years. He then talks about his run as Damien Mizdow. He says he was on a quest to entertain, but he lost a lot of respect from his peers. He says it was worth it though because he gained the respect of the WWE Universe. He thanks the fans.
As he continues to talk, he is interrupted by Curtis Axel. Axel comes out and tells us not to change the channel because Axelmania is running wild. He makes his way down to the ring.
Axel gets irritated as while he’s doing his Hulk Hogan-Axelmania schtick, Damien Sandow starts mocking him by immitating him. He does and says everything Axel says exactly how he says it.
Axel finally loses his cool. He tries to punch Sandow but Sandow blocks it and drops him. He knocks Axel out of the ring and then immitates him selling. His music hits to end the segment.
Backstage: Bray Wyatt Interview
Wyatt is shown backstage. He asks if Ryback will ever learn. He says he may not know himself, but Wyatt knows him. He says he sees right through him. He says he knows what motivates him and what scares him. He tells him what happened tonight was only the beginning. He says “run.” We head to commercial.
King Of The Ring
– Neville vs. Luke Harper
WWE plugs the return of Tough Enough and then we head back to the ring for the final first round King of the Ring tournament match. Neville’s music hits and out he comes.
After Neville makes his way to the ring, Luke Harper’s music hits and out he comes. The bell sounds and here we go with our final first round match in the tournament, which concludes in a live special on the WWE Network tomorrow night.
Surprisingly, Neville controls the action early on. He knocks Harper out of the ring and then goes out after him. Once out on the floor, Harper takes over control of the action. He throws Neville in the ring and continues his beatdown. We head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return, Harper is still in control. Neville starts fighting back and finally hits him with the Red Arrow. 1-2-3. Neville advances to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring.
Winner: Neville
Roman Reigns & Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins & Kane
It’s main event time. Roman Reigns’ theme hits and he makes his way to the ring through the crowd. As Reigns makes his entrance, we head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from the break, Randy Orton’s theme hits and out he comes. Out next is Kane, followed by Seth Rollins. The fans chant “Justin Bieber.”
Reigns and Rollins officially start things off for their respective teams. Rollins actually controls the big man early on. After a few minutes, a big powerslam from Reigns turns the tables and now he’s in control of the offense.
Rollins finally has enough and tags in Kane. Kane comes into the ring and Reigns immediately starts going to work on him as well. Orton tags in. Kane goes to work on him. Once he has him down, he tags Rollins in. Rollins takes over as we head to a mid-match commercial.
The action continues for several minutes until we’re down to Kane beating up on Reigns in the ring as we get near the end of this one. After the match, we will find out who the fans voted to be Seth Rollins’ opponent(s) for the Payback pay-per-view.
Orton finally gets the hot tag and now he goes to work on Rollins, who was also tagged in. Orton goes to pin Rollins but Kane breaks it up. Kane goes to chokeslam Reigns but he powers his hand off his throat. Rollins goes to drop kick Reigns but Reigns side-stepped him and he ended up nailing Kane by accident.
This leads to Reigns blasting Kane with a Superman punch, knocking him out of the ring. Orton hits Rollins with the draping DDT off the middle ropes and now he’s calling for the RKO. As he goes to RKO him, Rollins avoids it and knocks Orton out of the ring.
Rollins dives onto the floor but Reigns and Orton moved and Rollins ended up taking out Kane on accident. Kane freaks out and takes out J&J Security and then uppercuts Rollins and throws him into the ring. Once in the ring, Rollins is met by a Superman punch from Reigns and a RKO from Orton. 1-2-3. Orton and Reigns win.
Winners: Roman Reigns & Randy Orton

After the match, we find out the results of the WWE App poll to select Seth Rollins title challenger(s) for the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view, with the options being Rollins-Orton, Rollins-Reigns, or a triple threat match with all three. The fans went with the triple threat.
