UPDATE x 4: As previously reported, Daniel Bryan was sent home from WWE’s European tour as a precautionary measure. According to those on the tour, Bryan appeared to have suffered a concussion at the March 31st SmackDown tapings.
It is likely that WWE didn’t have the diagnosis until this week, as they wouldn’t have let him compete if they’d known. He was officially diagnosed after the SmackDown taping this week and WWE then decided to pull him from the tour.
UPDATE x 3: Here is some additional information on the Daniel Bryan injury story.
With WWE growing more and more concerned about Daniel Bryan’s serious health issues as of late, the company has begun making some drastic changes to work around the issue.
One example was at the RAW taping in London on Monday. Originally, Bryan was going to be John Cena’s opponent in his “U.S. Open Challenge,” however due to Bryan being pulled from the European tour early over concerns within the company regarding his health, the call was made to have Bad News Barrett take his spot in the RAW match with Cena.
Another example is the tag-team match with Bryan and Cena at the recent SmackDown television tapings. WWE purposely had Cena carry the weight of the match in terms of in-ring physical activity, so as not to make matters worse with Bryan’s condition.
Many within the company are under the belief that due to the dangerous style of in-ring work Bryan is known for, if he doesn’t drastically alter that style, he could be shortening his in-ring career by quite a bit.
UPDATE x 2: We have now confirmed that Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the WWE European tour following last night’s SmackDown tapings. When reached for a comment, WWE stated the following…
“Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the remainder of the UK tour as a precautionary measure.”
UPDATE: According to the most recent advertisements, Daniel Bryan may have been pulled from the rest of the WWE’s European tour. He’s no longer advertised but WWE has yet to make an official announcement.
As we previously reported, Daniel Bryan has reportedly been working hurt and still has health issues from his neck injury last year. WWE has been trying to protect him by booking him in six man tag matches and keeping him off of RAW. Bryan worked last night’s SmackDown taping, teaming with John Cena against Cesaro and Tyson Kidd.
ORIGINAL: Daniel Bryan is reportedly have trouble with his health. He’s still having problems related to his injury last year and is said to be in “rough shape”. That’s why he hasn’t had a match on RAW for the past two weeks. It’s also why WWE has been putting him in six-man tag team matches. They want to protect him by limiting his in-ring time.
Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan’s upcoming biography doesn’t mention AJ Lee at all. Lee was a major part of the storyline between Bryan and Sheamus, which led to the match at Wrestlemania 28 that changed Bryan’s career.
