C.M. Punk appeared in studio on ESPN SportsCenter on Wednesday morning. His appearance came after a recap of a 20-round shootout that took place in the NHL on Tuesday. A graphic listed Punk’s 92-minute match with Chris Hero in IWA Mid-South on the list of longest sporting events.

Punk was asked why the change from WWE to UFC. “Why not?” Punk responded. He conceded that he’s not ready to fight. “It’s not going to be easy, but I’m going to get there,” he said. Punk said he’s most comfortable on the ground and wants to become well-rounded. Punk was asked about detractors. He said he understands the point of view. His job is to do what’s best for him and his family. Punk later stated that he uses the negativity to fuel him.

Punk was asked about the Vince McMahon and Dana White similarities. He said he didn’t like the way he answered that question previously. He said their similarities are that they are both driven, set in their way, and have an idea of what’s best for their companies. Punk said there is a difference in generation. He said Vince is very old school and White is more open-minded.
