The Toronto Sun reports that Teddy Hart is a wanted man by the Strathcona County RCMP. Hart is wanted for multiple charges of sexual assault involving two women.
Hart (real name Edward Annis) is a member of the Hart family and trained at the famous Hart Family Dungeon. RCMP Cst. Chantelle Kelly confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Hart’s arrest.
Hart is allegedly accused of sexual assault and unlawful confinement and three charges of assault involving two women, aged 24 and 40. An arrest has not been made because Hart is currently out of town. Police plan on charging Hart when he returns.
Kelly stated, “Teddy Hart is believed to be in the U.S. at the current time.”
Hart’s father, BJ Annis, said his son will return to Canada to face the charges, which he says are groundless. Annis stated, “He’ll be back. He’s talking to a lawyer right now, so we’ll see what happens.” Annis continued in defense of his son, “Hell has no fury like a woman scorned. I’ve spoken to him every day, and needless to say, he’s pretty upset by this.”
One of Hart’s alleged victims hopes the police apprehend him soon. According to the report, she and the other victim waited until Hart left Edmonton on a wrestling contract before they reported what happened to the police. The unidentified victim stated, “We got out of there while he was out of town.” She added, “I’m hoping others come forward.”
Hart was briefly under a developmental deal with WWE. He has also worked for various indie wrestling promotions.
