The two sons of New Jersey independent wrestling promoter Mike “Morgan” Virulet were critically injured in an automobile accident. Virulet promotes ACE wrestling and ran the ACE Arena in Union City, New Jersey which is where several indy promotions (such as CHIKARA, WSU and WWNLive) held shows. WWE Diva AJ Lee had many of her early matches at the arena as well.

According to sources, Michael Virulet Jr., 20, and Adrian Virulet, 11, were walking home from seeing a movie on Saturday when a car ran off the road and struck them on the sidewalk. Both were critically injured; Michael Jr. has lost his leg and underwent brain surgery while Adrian was impaled by an iron fence in the collision. The driver sped off and has yet to be identified. Virulet’s fifteen year-old daughter managed to avoid being struck by the car.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have described the car as a red Nissan Rogue with tinted windows and heavy damage to the passenger-side front end. It is missing part of the front passenger fender and headlight. Anyone with information that can assist them should call the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office at (201) 915-1300.

The local wrestling scene has set up a GoFundMe campaign to offset the heavy medical bills, with $8,121 raised so far. If you would like to donate, you can do so here. It should be noted that the promoter is known as good guy and is well respected among indy talents. There have never been any issues with him paying talent and that’s pretty rare on the indy scene to be honest.

On behalf of everyone here on the website, we send our best thoughts to the Virulet family.
