New MSG project seeks fan input

Book documenting 50 years of WWE at venue set for late 2014 release

No venue has been more associated with the WWE and the McMahon family than Madison Square Garden.

Now, for the first time in print, each and every WWE event at MSG dating back to the inception of the World Wide Wrestling Federation will be documented as part of The History of Professional Wrestling’s ongoing book series.

“Holy Ground: 50 Years of WWE at MSG,” set for a late 2014 release, will spotlight every MSG pro wrestling event from 1963 to 2013. And we want the public to be part of it.

The book is the latest announced project as part of The History of Professional Wrestling book series, authored by journalist and wrestling historian Graham Cawthon, longtime owner and operator of TheHistoryofWWE.com.

The publication will not only seek to document, in-depth, each and every McMahon-promoted card and match at MSG from 1963 to 2013, it will also include photographs and memorabilia from historic events at the Garden as well as personal accounts from in-ring talent and fans.

Are you a longtime attendee of MSG wrestling events? Or maybe only attended once?
Were you a regular viewer of the televised MSG cards from the 1970s through 90s?
Do you have photographs, ticket stubs or other MSG memorabilia from WWE events held there?

If so, we would love to hear from you.

From now until Saturday, Aug. 30, we want you to email us at thehistoryofwwe@gmail.com with your own personal accounts and memories of WWE at MSG. Be sure to put “MSG” in the subject line. Contributors will be credited in the book.

Other titles in The History of Professional Wrestling book series, which launched in 2013, include: Vol. 1 The WWF 1963-1989, Vol. 2 WWF 1990-1999 (foreword by PWInsider’s Mike Johnson), Vol. 3 Jim Crockett Promotions & The NWA World Title 1983-1988 (foreword by Jim Cornette), and Vol. 4 WCW 1989-1994 (intro by Bobby Eaton, foreword by Gary Michael Cappetta).

All are available at Amazon.com (in print and Kindle), BarnesandNoble.com and other online retailers.
