Just to recap some notes from RAW …………
— As noted earlier, Batista was finally written off of WWE television so he can take his scheduled hiatus from the company. On Monday night’s post-WWE Payback edition of RAW in Indianapolis, Indiana, “The Animal” “quit” the company during the opening segment.
RAW was kicked off with Evolution coming to the ring, presumably for the last time. Triple H spoke about how they have unfinished business with The Shield, but Batista chimed in and said he doesn’t care about The Shield and wants the one-on-one WWE World Heavyweight Championship match he was promised. HHH told Batista and Randy Orton that nobody was getting anything they wanted until they take out The Shield, but once that happens, they will get everything they want.
Batista then replied, “I understand, and I quit.” He simply dropped the microphone, turned, did a very sarcastic wave goodbye to the fans and headed to the back.
Later in the show, a WWE App interview with Batista was shown, which was recorded backstage as soon as the aforementioned RAW segment concluded. Batista spoke about being lied to ever since he returned to the company, was fed nothing but empty promises and that he’s “done.”
— Stephanie McMahon announced the status of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship during an in-ring segment on the post-Payback edition of WWE RAW.
McMahon stated that if Daniel Bryan is able to compete at the upcoming WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view in four weeks, he will be defending the title in a stretcher match against Kane. If he cannot, the title will be vacated and then be put on the line for the first time ever in the actual Money In The Bank ladder match itself.
— It was announced on Monday’s post-WWE Payback edition of RAW that on WWE Main Event this Tuesday on the WWE Network, Rob Van Dam will challenge Bad News Barrett in a WWE Intercontinental Championship rematch from Payback.
