WWE SmackDown (Airing Friday):
Big Show comes out to open this week’s WWE SmackDown show. He talks about how he’s now fed up and how he’s coming extremely close to losing his cool. Big Show says everything that’s happening lately is Triple H’s fault. This brings out the WWE COO himself, who talks some more about the financial troubles that the Big Show is currently facing. HHH changes the originally designated main event of Big Show vs. The Shield in a three-on-one handicap match to Big Show vs. Randy Orton and The Shield in a four-on-one handicap match.
Rob Van Dam def. Fandango via Disqualification. This was apparently a good match while it lasted, with the DQ coming when Summer Rae got involved. After the match was over, RVD hit the Van Terminator with a trash-can on Fandango.
Ryback def. R-Truth. After the match was over, Curtis Axel continued the beatdown on Truth, likely setting up the rumored Intercontinental Championship match between the two at Sunday’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view.
In a backstage segment, Rob Van Dam sends the beat up trash can he used for the Van Terminator on Fandango earlier to Alberto Del Rio as a gift. This was done to illustrate the “Battleground Hardcore Rules” he and Del Rio will be competing under at Sunday’s PPV.
Alberto Del Rio def. Dolph Ziggler. This was said to be the best match of the evening. These two actually got some time as well in this one. In the end, Del Rio picked up the win by way of submission after applying his Cross Armbreaker finisher on Ziggler.
Los Matadores def. Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. Another big entrance for the new Los Matadores before the match, including their sidekick El Torito, who ended up splashing onto 3MB on the floor after the match was over.
Paul Heyman comes out to the ring to cut a promo. Heyman basically talks about how his new “Paul Heyman Guy” Ryback will destroy his nemesis CM Punk during their match at the WWE Battleground pay-per-view on Sunday.
Brie Bella def. Aksana. Brie got the win here, and the Bella Twins were celebrating after the victory until they were cut off by AJ Lee, who came out with Tamina Snuka. AJ cuts a promo on Brie and talks about their WWE Divas Championship match at the pay-per-view this Sunday in Buffalo.
Kofi Kingston def. Big E. Langston. Kingston got the win here with a roll-up after a pretty decent match. Following the match, Bray Wyatt came out and cut another promo on Kingston. He ends by talking about “following the buzzards” at Battleground. That was likely done to set up the rumored Wyatt vs. Kingston match at Battleground.
Big Show def. Randy Orton and The Shield via Disqualification. After getting beat up for much of the four-on-one handicap match, Big Show finally starts mounting a comeback. However, he is stopped short when he is attacked by Orton with a steel-chair, which prompted the referee to call for the bell, giving Show the win by the aforementioned DQ. The beatdown on Big Show from all four men continued until Daniel Bryan and The Uso’s came out to make the save. The show ended with all of the fans in Baton Rouge doing a loud, passionate “Yes!” chant along with Bryan and company.
