— This weekend will feature several wrestling events in the New York City area. New York Wrestling Connection will run the NYWC Sportatorium in Deer Park, Long Island tonight Impact Championship Wrestling will run the same venue tomorrow with Amazing Red vs Danny Demanto along with Lanny Poffo, Tito Santana, Trent Baretta and others. DGUSA will hold a show in Saturday in Queens. On Sunday afternoon, they will also hold a show at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan.
— Jerry Lawler will be returning to the ring to wrestle his first singles match since his heart attack last year on RAW. He will wrestle Matt Striker on September 21 for Northeast Wrestling. It takes place at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York. The show will also feature Kevin Nash teaming with Scott Hall’s son Cody, with Scott in their corner. Also featured on the show are Jim Ross, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, John Morrison and The Godfather.
— David Crockett has been interviewed for the Good Old Days documentary on Jim Crockett Promotions, which is being produced by highspots.com. It will be released officially next week. Jim Crocked was locked in on Tuesday and flew to Dallas today. He was able to get David to agree to be interviewed and they flew back to North Carolina, going from the airport to interview him. It led to director Michael Elliot having to re-cut the film, working three days to get it done in time. The film will feature Jackie, Jim and David Crockett all talking about JCP for the first time. You can find pre-orders here. The official premiere is in Charlotte next week.
