The Rock’s Reality Show Pulls In Good Ratings + More

The Salem News in Massachusettes has a preview of New England Championship Wrestling’s return to the area tomorrow.

— Following his latest film Fast & Furious 6 crossing half a billion worldwide this week, The Rock has also pulled in good numbers for the premiere of his TNT reality show. TNT revealed via press release that The Hero drew 2.1 million viewers between its premiere and the encore showing two hours later last night. It pulled in 1.53 million for the 8 PM premiere and 855,000 in the 18 – 49 demographic. It ranked #16 among cable shows last night in the demo.

Those are good numbers for the network, as it was up 94% from TNT’s year-to-date average for the timeslot.

‘The Hero’ Draws More Than 1.5 Million Viewers for 8PM Premiere

TNT’s exciting new competition series The Hero, starring Dwayne Johnson, got off to a strong start Thursday night, drawing more than 2.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for its 8 p.m. premiere and 10 p.m. encore. In the demos, the premiere and encore garnered more than 1.1 million adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

The Hero’s 8 p.m. premiere averaged more than 1.5 million viewers to rank as one of basic cable’s Top 10 unscripted series launches so far this year. Among key adult demos, the premiere telecast scored 855,000 adults 18-49, up a remarkable +94% over TNT’s year-to-date average for the timeslot (excluding sports). It also garnered 832,000 adults 25-54, outperforming TNT’s timeslot average by +45%. With a projected median age of 39, the audience for The Hero’s premiere telecast is TNT’s youngest ever for an original series launch.
