Mason Ryan’s WWE Contract, Kofi Kingston’s WWE Future, More

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Thanks to Ranjit Chahal for his help with some of the following newsbits:

— In a sign of how badly WWE wanted Mason Ryan several years ago, the company signed him to a five year deal when he joined their developmental program in 2009. Generally, the company likes to see progress with their performers before making a long term commitment, but WWE officials were willing to wait for Mason Ryan to develop.

— On television, Kofi Kingston is definitely someone lost in the shuffle. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s a candidate to be released any time soon. Aside from not causing problems backstage, the former Intercontinental Champion also does a lot promotional work for WWE, as evident by his hectic schedule during WrestleMania 29 weekend.

— As noted earlier this morning here on the website, WWE officials have discussed having Ryback feud with John Cena for the WWE Title after WrestleMania29. WWE planted the seeds for the feud when Cena eliminated Ryback to win the Royal Rumble this year.

— Here is this week’s edition of WZR Radio featuring myself (Ryan Clark) and Matt Boone. Also note that we’ll be doing our LIVE WrestleMania 29 special this Saturday night at 6EST. Look for the live chatroom and media links around 5EST on Saturday. We hope to see all of you guys then!!
