The World Wrestling League (WWL) is reportedly making big plans for their debut on 4/21. The promotion is already setting out to run several markets in the United States as well as international tours in South America. WWL plans to build itself up by working with groups in those local markets as partners and bringing in talents who work different styles to create a greater overview of the “culture of wrestling.”
The promotion is owned by Richard Negrin, who is also the president. Former WWE announcer and long-time Puerto Rican wrestling announcer Hugo Savinovich is also heavily involved in the promotion, and he has booked talents from the US, Mexico, and Puerto Rico for their debut. Negrin and Savinovich were recently in New York City this past week to scout talents at the Ludus Wrestling Academy in Brooklyn. They also did site surveys on potential venues for later down the line.
WWL is also planning to do potential iPPV’s including their April debut which is being held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The arena can hold as many as 18,500 fans. The event will be headlined by the first-ever AAA Mega-Championship bout held outside Mexico with Texano Jr. defending his title against Ricky Banderas aka Judas Mesias in TNA.
