WWE Heavily Promoting New App + Rolling Stones PPV Update

— The Rolling Stones’ “One More Shot” PPV, presented by WWE, will feature performances from Bruce Springsteen, The Black Keys and Lady Gaga. An announcement was made this morning. “We’re excited these extraordinary artists, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and the Black Keys, had agreed to help celebrate our 50th anniversary as we share the night live with our fans all over the world. Now the fun begins of trying to figure out the best songs to perform together,” said a WWE spokesman. WWE also announced a partnership with E! for a pre-PPV red-carpet event and a deal with Yahoo to broadcast the event over the Internet. — As a reminder, John Cena is scheduled to appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” this Thursday night on NBC. Sheamus is also scheduled to appear on “Conan” on TBS this Thursday night as well. Both Cena and Sheamus are expected to be promoting the Tribute to the Troops special this year. They may also mention TLC as well.

— WWE is heavily promoting its redesigned WWE app, particularly the “second screen experience”. World TV PC covered the app in an article that looked at second screen offerings from big entertainment brands. There is a quote from WWE executive Perkins Miller on WWE wanting to be the leader in App/mobile content side by side with TV shows.
