Breaking News: Ronda Rousey Signs With UFC + More

— Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion has a show set for Houston, Texas on Saturday.

— The WWE Encyclopedia’s second edition is set for release on November 19th.

— TMZ reports that Ronda Rousey has just made MMA history as she’s been announced as the first ever female fighter to join the UFC.

Rousey has officially joined the UFC roster and has automatically become their 135 lb. women’s champion. TMZ reports that Rousey will defend her title in 2013. Potential opponents include Sara McMann, Miesha Tate, and Cris “Cyborg” Santos (per the report). However, it’s been much discussed before from Cyborg’s camp that Cyborg cannot make the 135 lb. weight limit for a title fight with Rousey and has suggested the fight happen at a 140 lb. catchweight. Rousey has been adamant in her belief that Cyborg should drop down to her weight class to make it a fair fight since Cyborg previously failed a drug test for steroids and has never had a “fair fight” before.

A rep for Strikeforce had no comment on the announcement. This perhaps lends credence to the rumor that the January 12 Strikeforce event could be the last Strikeforce event.
