Loads Of Backstage News From The AWE Legends PPV

— As we noted yesterday here on the website, AWE officials have commented on talents that did not appear on the PPV. They claim that the talents that did not appear were only advertised for the local event, and not for PPV. On the AWE website, there is no distinction made, and Amy “Lita” Dumas’ image was used on the pre-game show as well as the opening video of the PPV, and she did not appear.

— AWE says that Rhino, Tommy Rich and Shane Douglas did not appear on the PPV, because they declined to sign PPV contracts. The talent working the PPV was asked to sign contracts specifically for the PPV. Rich mentioned on Facebook that promoter Marvin Ward never got back in contact with him, which is why he never appeared.

— Tully Blanchard ran the gorilla position of the PPV as well as worked as the head agent.

— Blanchard, Baby Doll and Ivan Koloff all appeared on the live event’s meet and greet prior to the PPV going on the air.

— The feeling live was that the show was good for a live event for the local crowd attending, but most admit that the show fell flat as a PPV presentation.

— Someone who worked the show felt that too many people were in Marvin Ward’s ear and that led to the promotion not doing what they usually would do and falling short.

— Ricky Morton had done an interview earlier in the week, stating that he was working Nash in a singles bout on the PPV, so this was not a last minute situation.
