— On the September 25th edition of The Cleveland Show, Ric Flair will voice an animated version of himself. Here is the description of the episode… “Cleveland is upset when he finds out that his best friend Peter Griffin came to Stoolbend and did not call him to hang out. In an effort to bond with the guys, Cleveland takes them on a camping trip hosted by guest star Ric Flair.”
— Dragon Gate USA did not draw well over the weekend in Indianapolis or Milwaukee. Indy drew in the area of 125-150 fans and Milwaukee was a little more. The promotion was reportedly happy with the attendance in Chicago.
— Sabu was added at the last second to Milwaukee’s event after he made the promotion what was described as a “nice offer” to work the show. Word is that Sabu was extremely helpful in terms of giving advice to the locker room and trying to help them. In Chicago, he watched the event on a monitor, and the feeling was that he was someone who “didn’t just come for the check.”
— There was some drama while running the iPPVs this weekend. Sal Hamoui, who directs the promotion’s iPPV, heads up their technical end and owns WWNLive.com ended up hospitalized. He was hospitalized following a live event in Indianapolis stemming from an infection he developed from a hernia operation. Due to his hospitalization (where ha had to undergo surgery) Gabe Sapolsky handled the logistical side of things for the Milwaukee and Chicago iPPV events. A DGUSA staff member named Ivan, who had worked under Hamoui, actually set up and ran the streams of the iPPVs. This is something that he had not done before.
