— Details are emerging about the Mick Foley biopic that was his “major announcement” today. The film will be based on his autobiographies and Foley will co-write the film with Christopher J. Scott, who will also direct. The film will be produced by Union Square Agency along with Jeff Katz, Michael Braverman and Barry Bloom.
— Matches being advertised locally for Friday’s LIVE SmackDown! tapings include Kane vs. Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship, Randy Orton vs. Sheamus for the WWE Heavyweight Championship and John Cena vs. Wade Barrett with the rest of Nexus as lumberjacks. Some of those will be dark matches.
— MVP will be at the Texas State Fair on Saturday to promote the Hell in a Cell PPV.
— Time Warner on Demand is showing Matt Morgan vs. Kurt Angle from last year’s Bound for Glory as well as a 24 minute Bound for Glory preview special.
— Connecticut’s AFL-CIO is telling union members to oppose Linda McMahon in the Connecticut Senate race. They are preparing to send out 3.6 million mailers endorsing Linda’s opponent, Richard Simmons. “The mailer explains how McMahon puts her own WWE workers in danger by not providing health insurance and retirement benefits,” a press release reads. “Linda also opposes workers’ rights in the workplace.” A spokesman for McMahon is calling the mailer “fictional” and that WWE has “nearly 600 well-paid employees with employer-provided health insurance,” referring to WWE’s corporate employees.
— Larry Sweeney says he was assaulted by 8 – 10 people in Michigan City, Indiana on Saturday night. Apparently it wasn’t wrestling-related, it was just “wrong place, wrong time.” Sweeney said he was released from the hospital at 3am with a broken nose and facial cuts.
