Derrick Burnsed vs. Bobby Stack
Round 1
Stack stuffs a takedown and cracks Burnsed with a right hand in the first meaningful exchange of the bout. Burnsed lands a nice right hand of his own that backs Stack up. Burnsed barrels in on Stack and bullies him to the mat with a body lock but can’t keep him there. Stack gets back up and clinches Burnsed along the cage but isn’t really doing much else. Stack is in control with double underhooks but referee Kim Winslow breaks them because of a lack of action. Stack tries a high kick but Burnsed side-steps it and blasts him with a straight right hand. Stack changes levels and takes him to the floor. Burnsed works his way back to his feet but Stack takes him right back down with a double. Burnsed shifts his hips and tries to work an armbar from the bottom but runs out of time after being stacked by Stack.
Round 2
Burnsed wobbles Stack with a head kick to start off the second. After being sent to a knee, Stack fought off a Burnsed attack and took the fight back to the ground where he could regain his wits. Burnsed fought his way back to his feet and nearly took Stack’s back but the wrestler scrambled back into top position. Burnsed tries to escape from his opponent’s clutches but Stack repeatedly takes him down. Burnsed finally gets a break when he gets a takedown of his own. He quickly slides into mount and works for a head and arm choke. Stack defends well and makes it to the end of the round.
Round 3
Stack gets the best of the initial exchange, scoring with a nice uppercut. Burnsed fires back but misses everything. Stack fires into another shot but slips off to the side and Burnsed puts him on his back. Burnsed takes the mount and then the back of Stack but gets too high and is swept. Stack tries to pass but Burnsed isolates an arm and rolls for the submission. Stack escapes and rises to his feet only to be met by an unchecked right hand to the jaw. It doesn’t even budge him. Burnsed looks to throw more hands but Stack changes levels again and plants him along the cage. Both fighters are spent with less than a minute left in the bout. Burnsed gets back to his feet one more time but Stack grabs a single and runs the pipe. He finishes the fight on top and in control.
The official scores are 29-28, 27-30 and 29-28, giving Bobby Stack a split-decision.
Gareth Joseph vs. Yancy Medeiros
Round 1
Joseph blasts Medeiros with a hard low kick to get things underway. He retreats from an advancing Medeiros and lands a nice right hand. Medeiros keeps up the pursuit and scores with a hard combination of punches. He pushes Joseph against the cage and lands another pair of shots. Joseph gets back on the offensive with a hard left hand after pushing Medeiros against the cage. Medeiros finds his range with the right hand and cracks Joseph on consecutive advances with his power hand. Medeiros is stalking Joseph who is circling around the cage. Joseph stops just long enough to land a low-kick and a leaping right hand. Joseph has employed a one shot and get out strategy while Medeiros is loading up looking for the big bomb. Joseph shoots with just seconds left in the round but he is rebuffed.
Round 2
Joseph is back up against the cage again to kick off the second. Medeiros is still searching for a single big shot but Joseph streaks straight at him with wild punches he easily avoids. Medeiros steps back into the pocket and looks to engage. He drops Joseph with a perfectly placed punch. As he tries to make it back to his feet, Medeiros lands a fight-finishing right hand that forces referee Jason Herzog step in at 1:19. The knockout win keeps Medeiros slate clean.
Bret Bergmark vs. Vagner Rocha
Round 1
Bergmark hammers Rocha with a clubbing right hand that gets his attention just as the fighters reach the center of the ring. Rocha tries to close the distance but is clipped again. Rocha shoots but Bergmark sprawls. Rocha keeps working and finally gets the takedown. Bergmark searches for submissions from his back but eventually gets back to his feet off a failed Rocha pass. Bergmark throws a low kick but is forced to sprawl again when Rocha shoots another takedown. Again, though he originally stuffs the attempts, Bergmark is put on his back by a grinding Rocha with 30 seconds left. Rocha can’t advance or score from the top as the final seconds tick off the clock.
Round 2
Bergmark drops a stiff right hand on Rocha. He slips a straight right and cracks him with another overhand. Rocha clinches and Bergmark folds him over with a knee to the midsection. Rocha press forward in the clinch and Bergmark tries to stave him off with a cross-face before hip tossing him to the mat. He passes Rocha’s guard and lands a big right before standing back up. Rocha is slow to rise but referee John McCarthy steps in and allows him to get up unimpeded. Bergmark is in complete control of the round. He is stalking a fading Rocha and lands a big flurry right at the 10 second warning.
Round 3
The pace has really slowed down in the third. Two minutes in and there is little to note in the way of action. Rocha shoots in and Bergmark grabs onto a head and arm clinch but can’t find an angle for a choke. The fighters are trading sloppy, tired punches with little steam on them. Bergmark is finding the mark more often and finally hurts Rocha with a right hand that puts him on his back. Bergmark has no intention of following him to the mat and walks away. McCarthy implores him to get to his feet but he takes his time. Bergmark sinks him again with a right hand. It is apparent he is more weary than hurt but Bergmark has clearly taken control nonetheless. Rocha slowly gets up again and is in full retreat when Bergmark lands yet another right hand. Rocha looks at McCarthy pleadingly but is told to get back up. He gets a break when the final horn sounds.
The official scores are 29-28, 30-27 and 30-26, all for Bergmark, the winner by unanimous decision.
Chris Cope vs. Ron Keslar
Round 1
Keslar hits a takedown and passes straight up the middle to mount. Cope tries to use the cage to roll over but ends up giving his back to Keslar who locks on the body triangle. He tries to snake his arm under the chin but Cope is defending the rear naked-choke well. Keslar keeps getting his arms peeled off and can’t find the submission. He comes close but Cope goes with a two-on-one defense and gets out of danger again. Cope rolls over and nearly escapes but Keslar takes the mount and Cope gives his back right up again after a punch or two. Cope has no problems staying out of submission danger throughout the round despite spending the majority of the frame with Keslar on his back.
Round 2
Keslar avoids a punch from Cope and slips underneath for another takedown. He immediately worms his way to Cope’s back. After another minute of stalemate, Cope is able to turn in and set up in Keslar’s guard. His top position time is short. Keslar easily escapes back to his feet and is greeted with a kick to the groin. Keslar is winded and looks to be using the break to catch his breath. He is ready to go now. Keslar shoots and is stuffed. Cope answers with punches and a spinning back-kick to the head. A visibly gassed Keslar drops for a low-single and is blanketed by Cope who punches his foe as he clings to a single. Keslar is not responding to referee Kim Winslow’s instructions and though he doesn’t look to be in real trouble she steps in and ends the bout at 4:32. Keslar really just looked tired and not hurt but he was not heeding the instructions of the referee and she called the bout.

Pat Healy vs. Josh Thomson
Round 1
Thomson throws a one-two and the fighters’ heads clash. It doesn’t look like either man was cut. Thomson gets a quick single-leg takedown and Healy springs back up to his feet. Healy attempts a body-lock trip and fails. He follows up with digging-right hands to the body. Healy drops levels and Thomson is all over him as he transitions to the back. Thomson is working for an armbar, and he spins to his back to finish it. The arm is extended to its limit, but Healy finds a way to escape. From the guard, Thomson locks on a triangle choke and transitions to another armbar. Again it’s tight, but Healy is able to free his limb. Thomson stands and Healy suplexes him back to the canvas. Healy moves to the back of Thomson, where he looks for a rear-naked choke. Healy attempts to move to the mount and Thomson scrambles into a heel hook. Healy escapes and both fighters are back on their feet. From the clinch, Thomson trips Healy to the floor and begins to work from side control.
Round 2
Thomson connects with a right hand and two sharp low kicks. Healy switches levels and secures a strong double-leg takedown. Thomson turns his back in an attempt to stand, and Healy hops onto his back. Healy puts both hooks in and begins to pepper the head with his left hand. Thomson is able to roll over and Healy resumes punching, but now with his right hand and from half guard. Healy crossfaces with his right arm and punches the head with his left. Healy gets some nice work in with his right hand, too. Thomson has had enough of the punishment, and he stands. Healy trips him to the floor and works on the right foot with a heel hook. Thomson is warned by referee “Big” John McCarthy for throwing 10-6 elbows to the thigh. Thomson gets to guard and locks on a tight armbar. Again it’s very tight, but Healy is able to slip out. Healy resumes punching from the top, and he’s scoring.
Round 3
Thomson lands a right hand and stuffs a shot. Thomson scores with another right. Healy lands a right cross that dings off Thomson’s forehead. Two slow left hooks for Healy land. Both man landed inconsequential single punches through the first two minutes. Healy gets the collar tie against the fence, but Thomson escapes. Healy drives a single leg and finishes a takedown, but is reversed as Healy goes for the back. Thomson away from Healy and gets a rear waistlock. Thomson gets a body triangle with 90 seconds to go, and threatens with a rear-naked choke. Healy’s face is changing color, but “Bam Bam” continues to pry on Thomson’s elbow and try to escape. Healy turns over and succumbs to the choke at 4:27 of the third round, giving Josh Thomson the third-round submission win.

Strikeforce Women’s Middleweight Championship
Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos vs. Jan Finney
Round 1
Finney lands a good right hook to start proceedings, forcing Cyborg to flurry back. Finney lands another clean right hands that makes Santos close the distance and clinch up. After they break, Cyborg lands a hard right hands, and just continues to throw heavy leather, dropping Finney to her knees. As Finney regains her footing, she walks facefirst into a Cyborg right knee that puts her on her knee again. Great chin from Finney shown so far. Up against the fence, Santos lands another wicked right corss that puts Finney on the deck, clinging to a single leg. Cyborg smashes away with hammerfists to the side of her head, until she pulls guard. Referee Kim Winslow stands the fighters and Cyborg blasts her with another right hand. Cyborg pounces with punches and bunches and hits the back of the head at the end of a flurry. Winslow deducts a point for the foul. Finney is given time to recover and her face is all busted up. The fighters trade punches briefly and Cyborg presses her prey against the fencing. The Brazilian steps backwards to gain a punching distance and she delivers. The fighters trade and Cyborg bullies her with straight rights. Finney collapses to the floor and Cyborg tees of with her right hand. Cyborg looks at Winslow, but the referee does nothing. Finney is turtled and Cyborg is showing no mercy. The round ends with Finney getting beat on while attempting a single.
Round 2
A battered Finney begins round two with another nice right hand, which only seems to rouse Cyborg again. Cyborg now landsing hard jabs, and shrugs off a Finney takedown. Cyborg pelts Finney with right hands as Finney sits on her knees. Cyborg kneels into knee on belly against the fence, hammerfisting Finney, before settling into side control. Cyborg stands up and gets away, and again resumes landing jabs and right hands on Finney. Cyborg again gets double underhooks against the fence. Cyborg lands a three-punch combo and clinches again. Referee Kim Winslow breaks the pair. As they resume, Cyborg again lands a volley of punches, forcing Finney to the fence. Cyborg grabs the clinch and plants a vicious knee into the guts of Finney that drops “Cuddles” to the canvas, and flurries with strikes until Winslow steps in to halt the one-sided beating. Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos retains her Strikeforce title at 2:56 of the second round.
Cung Le vs. Scott Smith
Round 1
Smith bullrushes Le from the bell, looking to end the fight with a single punch. He catches Le with a clean right hand. Le circles and avoids anymore punishment. Smith presses Le into the cage, where he lands a hard right and several body shots. Smith releases to throw a right-handed haymaker and misses. Le gets off the cage and starts to box. Le lands a jab and a straight right hand. Smith is back on the charge as he chases Le down. A straight left hand rocks Smith’s world. He stumbles back to the fence and shoots desperately. Le sprawls perfectly and controls the head. Le lets go and hits the body with his left hand. Smith stands and Le pulls him back down into the four-point stance. Smith powers forward for a double, but the fence allows Le some stability. Le absolutely cracks Smith with another straight left. Le misses a head kick and then goes to the body with two right knees that drop Smith to his knees. Le controils the head again while Smith reaches for a leg. Body shots connect for Le.
Round 2
Le scores with a left and a right hand early in the round. Smith charges and Le drops him with a spinning-back kick. Le ties his opponent up on the floor and Smith stands. Le has his back standing, where he knees the back of the thighs. Le lets go and drops Smith again with a flush spinning-back kick. Smith is hurt. Le swarms with punches until referee Jason Herzog pulls him off at 1:46 of the second round. Cung Le gets his revenge is impressive fashion.
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Fabricio Werdum
Round 1
Both guys come out and feel each other out a little bit. Werdum throws a nothing leg kick to test the waters. Fedor stuns Werdum with a punch. Werdum is knocked flat on his ass. Fedor follows in to finish him up on the ground but Werdum catches Fedor. Get ready people. Werdum spent a few seconds tightening up the triangle. He had an armbar in there too and Fedor Emelianenko just tapped his hand in submission, LOSING THE FIGHT to Fabricio freakin’ Werdum. And THAT is how the insane run of Fedor ends. Wow. Insanity.
