— The New York MyNetworkTV affiliate will be airing New York Yankees games on June 18th, July 16th, August 6th and October 1st, starting at 7PM. WWE SmackDown! will be pre-empted in that market on these dates.
— The 10-Diva tag match on which we reported Friday is now listed on WWE.com as part of the WrestleMania card. As noted earlier, a 30-man Battle Royal will take place before WrestleMania goes live. This will be a DVD extra.
— The A&E special with Bob Saget and eight Indy workers trying to make it big was taped last Sunday night in Oceanside and taped again last night at Dragon Gates USA’s Phoenix show. The eight featured wrestlers are Johnny Yuma, Jason Watts, Jason Redondo, David Flex, Luke Hawx, Brad Badd, Christina Von Eerie and Xtreme Loco.
— An interview with David Sammartino is available at http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/ In it he says he would welcome a call from TNA if they asked him to come in, talks about the first WrestleMania being “no big deal,” and talks about WWF and AWA treating him like any other guy despite his name.
— Bill Goldberg tweeted the following yesterday: “BTW..my desire to return to the wrestling world in any capacity is based on the fact that if I continue to let my issues with the business stand in the way, I’d be very selfish. Times have changed and I don’t work for people anymore…..I work with them. I control my destiny. Depriving the fans and my family would be a shame.” He followed that up with this tweet today: “Let’s get it straight. I’ve spoken to WWE about a merch deal, no more, no less. Will it lead to something else? Nobody knows the answer…” He also asked his followers who they would want to see him wrestle if he did decide to come back, and was surprised that only 5% of replies voted for Steve Austin.
