— As announced on RAW last night, the one and only William Shatner will guest host next week’s show. “The Shat” last appeared on RAW fifteen years ago in a memorable segment with Jerry “The King” Lawler.
— As noted last night here on the website, Georgiann Makropolous, who has been involved in the wrestling fan club and newsletter business dating back to 1959, passed away yesterday after suffering a heart attack. She was 68. In recent years she worked for WrestlingFigs.com, keeping fans up to date on wrestling stars of yesteryear and appearances. She notably ran Bruno Sammartino’s fan club and was a fixture for decades at ringside at Madison Square Garden during the 60s, 70s and 80s. However, she is best known for her Wrestling Chatterbox newsletter, which she published for the past 22 years. It should also be mentioned that she was admired among many within the wrestling industry including myself. Paul Heyman wrote of her passing that “pro wrestling lost its best friend.” Some of the news here on the website came from her. She used to send stuff in all the time and was always so generous when doing so. A truly sad loss. R.I.P Georgiann, you’ll be missed.

— As noted earlier, The Undertaker — and real-life girlfriend Michelle McCool — missed Sunday’s SmackDown/ECW live event in Cleveland due to a death in his family. Triple H appeared instead and wrestled Chris Jericho in the main event.
