Jim Ross has two new blogs up on JrsBarBQ.com, the first on the passing of Steve “Dr. Death” Williams. Here are some highlights from the long blog…
On Dr. Death: Since Steve “Dr. Death Williams passed away earlier this week I have not addressed the matter until now. Losing Steve, which came as no major surprise knowing how sick he was in the final days of his life, has affected me in ways that words cannot adequately describe.
Steve Williams had an overwhelming faith in God and that was his greatest gift and asset in his latter days. It was also inspirational to those of us that were closest to him.
Through Doc, I have learned that Faith has to be one’s top priority so at the end of the day the “Good Doctor” prescribed me the best medicine one person can provide another.
Thanks, Doc. I love you and will never forget you.
– JR also has a blog up, discussing Tommy Dreamer, Ric Flair and more, here are the highlights…
On Tommy Dreamer: The Tommy Dreamer send off on ECW was nicely done. It is good to see a guy who has dedicated so much of his life to the business and who has been a fan forever to be acknowledged as Tommy was Tuesday night. Kudos to WWE for facilitating the opportunity for “Big Beefy” to say adiós to his fans. Tommy would have made it in any generation including the territory days as his work ethic and toughness would have been welcomed attributes for any promoter. Congrats Tommy, you made all of us Old Schoolers proud.
On Ric Flair: Ric Flair called me during the Christmas Holidays and was in great spirits. “Naitch” really loved wrestling in Australia and I expect Ric to continue to wrestle for as long as he is able albeit not on a regular schedule nor should he. Ric Flair is “special” and his success outside the ring with his “Whoo” endorsements with various state lotteries is going great guns for him. Ric is also working in the Carolinas with Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, and Kroger’s Grocery stores.
