-Snoop rolls out in a pimped out pink ride, accompanied by Raw’s newest divas Eve Torres and The Bella Twins. Snoop says Sunday night Raw is going to embarrass Smackdown, and he heard tonight might be John Cena’s last night on Raw so he’s got him fighting Triple H. He says since John Cena has to fight its only right that Randy Orton has to fight so he booked him against the man who pinned him last week Ted Dibiase. He also booked the co-captains against each other Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. He brings out DX, and Triple H says as required by law every time Snoop is on a show white guys have to try to badly speak in Snoop Dogg language. Shawn and Hunter prove how white they are with several “izzles” and then HHH says they have put together a team of epic proportions. He says they will face the Smackdown team, and puts the team up on the titantron. First we have Jericho who both Shawn and HHH beat at Wrestlemania. Next up we have Kane, and Shawn asks if he had a fling with his ex girlfriend. HHH says she was kind of a stiff. Har har har. Next up is Cryme Tyme who can be found in the parking lot selling unused tickets, and we have the guy who introduces himself. HHH can’t remember his name, and then he has no clue who they are. Shawn says we can’t talk about the up and comers like that, and says the one guy is Drew McIntyre who was signed personally by Vince McMahon. Shawn then says the other guy is…well he really doesn’t know who he is. Finally it comes to him and he whispers something to HHH who does a spit take and asks if he’s really bopping Vickie Guerrero. HHH says he always said if you’re going to sleep your way to the top at least do it with someone who weighs less than you. Shawn says he’d know for sure. HHH says its quite the team, but it pails in comparison to the team Shawn and he put together and introduces Team Raw. Shawn calls them an impressive mass of humanity. He goes down the lineup, but gets to Cody who takes the mic from Shawn to stop him from mocking him. HHH calls Team Raw millions of dollars of talent…and Cody Rhodes. Cody says he’s not going to listen to them on Sunday, as they are captains in name only. If this was based on talent he’d be the captain and everyone knows it. He says he may not tag anyone in, and might just beat Smackdown by himself. Big Show takes exception to that, and says he doesn’t care if they insult DX but he will respect him. He says if at any time he thinks he will let the team down he will take Cody out himself, and that goes for each and every one of them. Mark Henry asks if that’s a threat, and Show asks “what if it is?” Henry says if it is they’re going to have problems. Swagger interrupts and says they might be bigger, but he’s more athletic than all of them. He says they need to do what they do best and stand and look intimidating while the all American wrestler does what he does best. Kofi chimes like a good babyface, and says this is what Smackdown wants and they need to focus on being a team. Trips stops by and questions where Kofi’s accent went as he’s supposed to be Jamiacan. Triple H says he’s got a little test for them tonight, and it’s a 5 on 5 match. If any of them lose it will prove they are the week link, and the person who pins them will replace them, and that match is next.
10 Man Tag Team Match: The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, & Mark Henry vs. Montel Vontavious Porter, Primo, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Masters, & Evan Bourne
Joined in progress out of the break with Chavo in control of Kofi. Kofi comes back with a backdrop on Chavo, and then leaps to the second rope with a series of right hands. Kofi ducks a clothesline and hits a clothesline of his own before being tagged in by Big Show and Mark Henry simulataneously. The two big men argue so Cody tags himself in, but gets pushed into the corner where Chavo makes a tag to MVP. MVP hits a throw on Cody, and then pulls Cody back into the corner tagging in Bourne. Bourne hits a crossbody off the second rope, but Cody rolls through for a two count. Cody goes for a vertical suplex, but Cody counters and tags in Primo. Primo ducks a clothesline, and then delivers a Side Russian Legsweep. Dropkick by Primo misses, and that allows Cody to connect with the Cross Rhodes. Swagger makes a blind tag and runs in to make the pin at 3:05. Everyone takes exception to that which leads to everyone getting dumped from the ring and Show spearing Henry.
Winners: The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, & Mark Henry (Swagger pins Bourne-Cross Rhodes *1/2)
-Ted Dibiase talks to Josh Mathews, and says he didn’t do anything last week that Orton didn’t do. He says Orton didn’t return any of his calls, but he has to understand. Orton interrupts and asks what it is he has to understand about being betrayed. Dibiase asks if he would have done the same thing if he were him, and Orton says if he were Dibiase he would listen to him. He says in a few minutes they are supposed to have a match, but they won’t. Dibiase won’t fight back, and if he does that he might not get thrown out of Legacy. If he decides to take another advantage however, and decides to fight back he’ll regret it for the rest of his life.
Ted Dibiase vs. Randy Orton
Dibiase shows that he is conflicted by refusing to look at Orton, and Orton then boots him in the gut. Dibiase stands back up and stares him down again, but gets hit with a European upper cut. Again Dibiase stands up doing a great job with the facial expressions of anger building, but gets stomped down. Orton tells him not to even think about it, and once again stomps him. Orton asks him if he wants to hit him, and then again delivers a stomp. Dibiase is doing a fabulous job here, as he stands up and stares down Orton as the crowd just BEGS him to punch Orton. Orton pie faces him, and DARES Dibiase to touch him. Finally Dibiase has had enough and shoves Orton to the ground as Randy backs off to the corner. The look in Dibiase’s eye is something that absolutely can’t be taught. Just tremendous storytelling here. Finally Dibiase changes to a look of resignation, as Orton senses the change and becomes more confident. Orton pushes Ted’s face up and delivers the RKO at 4:21. More of a match than an angle, but what an angle it was. This was absolutely terrific, as we continue to build towards a Dibiase face turn. Not much more you can say. The crowd was absolutely PLEADING with Ted to hit him.
Winner: Randy Orton (Pinfall-RKO N/R)
-Video tribute for the late Captain Lou Albano. Very nicely done.
-Sneak Peek at Snoop Dogg’s new video.
-Back in Snoop’s office as he is interrupted by Hornswoggle and Chavo. Chavo wants to be part of Team Raw, and says that all the guest hosts overlook him. Jillian then comes in and demands a rematch for the Diva’s Title. Then Santino stops by dressed like CHARLIE FREAKING BROWN, and says they got off on the wrong foot last year and he dressed like Charlie Brown to make it up for him. Finally Snoop kicks them all out, and then says he needs to relax and asks for his lighter??? We then get a technical difficulties screen featuring Michael Cole with his arm around Hornswoggle. Seriously. When we come back the room is filled with smoke, and Snoop says nothing relaxes him like lighting up his own personal stash…of scented candles. [insert THAT’S NOT PG comments here]
John Cena vs. Triple H
Triple H uses his Game theme for this one. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe during the first DX reunion in ’06 they both used the DX theme for singles matches as well as tag matches. Not a big deal just an observation. Cena takes HHH over a few times with a headlock, and HHH counters out each time with a headscissor. Cena goes for a quick Attitude Adjustment, but HHH is able to quickly escape the damage. Cena takes HHH over again with the side headlock, and then delivers a shoulderblock off the ropes. Cena hits a hiptoss for a two count, and they stare each other down. Trips then grabs a headlock, but Cena reverses into an overhand wristlock. HHH counters with a knee to the midsection, and rams Cena face first into the top buckle. Cena comes firing out of the corner, and then whips HHH into the buckle. HHH explodes out of the corner with a clothesline for a two count, and then whips Cena violently into the corner. HHH again whips Cena into the buckle, and measures Cena for the pedigree. Cena counters out and whips HHH into the corner sending him over the top to the floor as we head to break.
Back from commercial with HHH in control as he hits a sidewalk slam for a two count. HHH drops a knee and then drives Cena into the corner with a series of shoulderblocks. Cena fights back as they trade right hands in the middle of the ring. Cena gets the better of the exchange, and hits a shoulderblock off the ropes. A second attempted shoulderblock from Cena is dodged by HHH. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment again, but HHH again slides off the back and chops the leg. HHH charges at Cena, but gets a drop toehold attempt. Cena goes for the STF, but HHH gets to the ropes and then catches Cena with a boot. Cena comes right back with a fisherman’s suplex, but HHH counters a running bulldog attempt sending Cena crashing to the canvas. HHH sets up for the Pedigree again, but Cena counters into the STF this time locking it in the center of the ring. HHH nearly gets to the ropes, but Cena pulls him back to the center. HHH is able to dive for the ropes to stop that, and then hits the Pedigree out of nowhere. HHH goes for the cover, but Cena is able to get his foot on the bottom rope as we head for break again.
Back from commercial as Cena rolls back inside from the floor. HHH hits him with a straight right hand. Cena comes back with an Attitude Adjustment attempt, but HHH counters into a sharpshooter. Cena is able to get to the bottom rope to break the hold, and then comes back with a series of shoulderblocks. Protoplex connects by Cena, and that of course sets up a five knuckle shuffle which connects. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment again, but again HHH counters. HHH is back with a high knee, and a facebuster followed by a clothesline. Spinebuster by HHH connects, and that sets up a second Pedigree which connects but CENA IS OUT AT TWO! HHH goes for the Pedigree again, but Cena counters into an Attitude Adjustment which finally connects but HHH also is able to kick out! Unbelievable. Cena heads to the top rope for the legdrop, but HHH moves. Pedigree attempt is countered into an Attitude Adjustment. HHH counters that, and finally hits another Pedigree this time getting the win at 20:15. These guys get a lot of unwarranted ‘net hate for their ring work, and one of the constant criticisms is they need a great worker to carry them. Well they sure as hell didn’t here. Flame away, but this is the best Raw match since Shawn and Cena back in January. Better than Night of Champions, and on par with the Wrestlemania match. HHH helps Cena to his feet, and delivers a handshake before leaving Cena to soak in the moment of his final night on Raw. This is pretty lame considering that we all know even if he goes to Smackdown he’ll back on Raw occasionally, but Cena does a nice job of selling the moment nonetheless.
Winner: Triple H (Pinfall-Pedigree ****)
The Miz vs. Some Jobber
Snoop stops these festivities to say he wasn’t happy about all that stuff Miz said about Marty Jannetty, so he replaced the jobber with Marty himself.
The Miz vs. Marty Jannetty
Miz pushes Marty into the corner, but Jannetty answers with a smack and then rolls up Miz for two. Miz comes back with a boot to the gut, and then whips Marty to the corner. Miz delivers a brutal clothesline, and then locks in a reverse chinlock. Marty elbows out of the chinlock, and then delivers a back suplex. Marty hits a back elbow, and a running clothesline. Backdrop connects by Marty, and he then heads to the second rope for a fist drop getting a two count. A sequence of counters appeared to be botched by the hopelessly out of shape Jannetty, and Miz just goes ahead and mercifully ends this with the Skull Crushing Finale at 2:39. Marty looks like he aged about 20 years since he was last in WWE. After the match Vince personally fired Jannetty. Okay I made that part up.
Winner: The Miz (Pinfall-Skull Crushing Finale DUD)
WWE Diva’s Championship: Jillian Hall (w. Chavo Guerrero) vs. Melina ©
Did I miss something? Why is Chavo out there with Jillian? Anyway if Jillian wins here she not only wins the title, but replaces Melina on Team Raw. Chavo provides a distraction which allows Jillian to gain control hitting a Samoan Drop for two. Jillian whips Melina to the corner, and goes for a handspring. Melina catches her in a headscissor as Chavo again jumps on the apron for a distraction. Hornswoggle comes out from under the ring all gangsta’d up and tries to pull him off. Meanwhile back in the ring Melina hits the Primal Scream to retain at 0:59. Nothing match as it was just here to set up the aftermath. Chavo goes after Swoggle and begins to rip off his gangsta clothes, but Snoop is out to make the save. Swoggle gets behind Chavo allowing Snoop to push Chavo over in the schoolboy trip, and then he delivers a spear to Chavo. That leads to divas coming out and dancing with Snoop and Swoggle.
Winner: STILL WWE Diva’s Champion-Melina (Pinfall-Primal Scream DUD)
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
Back from the break and it’s 10:59PM. Chris Jericho makes his way out to the ring first followed by his opponent Shawn Michaels. The bell rings and Jericho rolls to the floor to get a microphone. Jericho comes in the ring and says SmackDown has an advantage over RAW – him being the captain. Jericho says he is the best in the world at what he does. Jericho says we are going to start now with HBK and out comes Cryme Tyme.
The pyro hits next and out comes Kane. HBK is on the ramp now and looking confused. Kane comes marching through the crowd and he has Dolph Ziggler, Eric Escobar and Drew McIntyre with him. Jericho says while Team RAW argues like children… the DX music hits and out comes Triple H.
Behind Triple H comes Jack Swagger, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and Mark Henry. Both teams are in the ring and all fourteen Superstars face off. Triple H tells Jericho congratulations because he done the impossible – he made Team RAW agree on one thing. The fact that they don’t like Team SmackDown. Triple H says they all walked onto this show but are about to get thrown off of it. Vickie Guerrero asks everyone to excuse her as she walks out on the ramp to tons of heat.
Vickie’s back and it’s great. Tons of heat here for WWE’s best heel. Vickie says she sees where this is going and as a SmackDown official, she won’t allow it. Vickie says if DX want a fight, they get one but it has to wait until Sunday. She says Team SmackDown is leaving the arena now. Huge “you suck” chant here. Triple H tells Jericho to listen to Vickie and leave. Triple H says they don’t work for Vickie Guerrero, drops the mic and Team RAW starts brawling with Team SmackDown. Jericho gets thrown over the announcer’s table by HBK as both teams brawl in the ring. RAW goes off the air with chaos in the ring.
