WWE star Triple H walked Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the ring before his fight last night with Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas. Mayweather earned a unanimous decision victory over Marquez. Photos of Triple H with Mayweather at the weigh-ins on Friday can be seen at WWE.com. It should be noted that Mayweather mentioned in a media interview that he has spoken with WWE about possibly coming in full-time. Mayweather added, “I talked with the (Vince) McMahon family and they’re happy with the idea. So I may move there full-time. I don’t know.” Triple H was boo’ed out of the building at the weigh-in’s on Friday. You can see a video of this at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pvt9L5fG98&feature=related
Bobby Lashley’s planned fight with Ron Waterman on October 3 in Denver has been postponed. The promotion is said to be looking at a December date, although it would be the third time the show was moved. So the confidence level at this point in a show actually taking place is said to be low. Where Lashley goes from here MMA wise isn’t really known. He was said to be in talks with Strikeforce at one point, but it doesn’t appear anything came of it. Lashley was recently offered a deal to go to IGF in Japan to play off his feud with Bob Sapp, but turned it down and in doing so seemed to indicate the only pro wrestling he will be doing is with TNA in the U.S. He will make his PPV debut for TNA at tonight’s No Surrender event in Orlando against Rhino.
