JBL Speaks On Test & ‘Historic’ ‘Mania, More On ‘Test’s’ Passing

John Bradshaw Layfield has updated his WWE Universe blog. Some highlights: Andrew “Test” Martin: “Very saddened to hear about Andrew Martin’s death. Andrew was a good friend and I hate to see someone so young with so much promise not get to live a full life.” His WrestleMania Surprise: “I know you are getting sick of me saying it, but I still plan on doing something historic at Wrestlemania. I can’t let the 25th anniversary of Mania go by without JBL doing something big. I do plan on doing something big in my great home state of Texas.” Ohio Valley Wrestling: “I want to reiterate that I don’t own OVW, I am an advertiser there in the same way I advertise with Fox 17 in Nashville and 97.5 the Rock in St Louis. We have good distribution in these areas so it makes sense to advertise where we have products on shelves. The hardest thing in retail is not to get on shelves but to get them off the shelves by customers buying the product.”

As noted earlier, local commercials in various markets across the U.S. for upcoming WWE events are said to be now pushing ticket prices for the events starting at $20.00 to $25.00. A commercial ran in the New York market last night during Raw hyping WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden on April 28 with tickets starting as low as $20.00 (although prices were listed as high as $75.00, $50.00 and $45.00). So it would appear WWE’s latest strategy to battle the down economy is to drop ticket prices for live events to make it more affordable.

ABCactionnews.com has an interview up with Amy Patterson, the neighbor of former WWE star Andrew “Test” Martin where she talks about noticing Martin’s body in his home last Thursday. She added, “His feet were flat on the ground and he was on the sofa and he was completely back. I kept thinking, ‘I hope he gets up,’ because I could tell he was young and I thought, ‘ I hope somehow he’s okay.’ But just knew in my heart he just wasn’t.”
