The opening TNA iMPACT! video airs.
The Beautiful People w/ Cute Kip vs. Taylor Wilde & Madison Rayne is up now. Wilde and Sky start things off with Wild and Rayne dominating early on. The Beautiful People gain the upper-hand and a hot tag is finally made to Rayne. Wilde winds up slapping Rayne. The Beautiful people get a rollup pin. Wilde turned a full-fledged heel after the match.
Beer Money Inc. vs. The Rock n’ Rave Infection – Off The Wagon Match – Rave and Roode start things off. Rave controls the early part of the match. Roode tags in Storm. Rave tags in Hoyt. The end comes when Lance Hoyt is nailed with the tag title while Jackie distracts Rudy Charles. Roode pins Hoyt and he’s now fired.
Kevin Nash says he is the spokesperson and claims that everything within the Mafia and they are still a family. Tenay says it doesn’t seem like they are united. Nash says that Tenay works for Jeff Jarrett and it was Jarrett who wanted them to kill each other in the first place. Nash said they don’t have to always get along but they respect each other. He says TNA cannot beat them. Jeff Jarrett comes out and says he is seeing firsthand that Sting isn’t buying any of this crap. Jarrett asks Sting where his integrity is after Angle spit right in his face. He says Sting and Angle are polar opposites and as the founder of TNA, he is allowing Angle to challenge Sting at the PPV. Booker T asked Jarrett why he founded a company of nobodies and that without the Mafia, TNA would be nothing. Jarrett told Sting and Angle he would see them later for a contract signing.
Don West takes a house mic and announces that earlier this week, TNA management had a meeting with him about his future in the company. He says that Mike Tenay didn’t do anything to defend West and tried to stay neutral. West said that Tenay is a “selfish pr***” and says that he knows two things – that their friendship will never be the same and Tenay can stick the mic West is holding up his a**.
Sabin vs. Shelley vs. Lethal vs. Creed for the X-Division title in a ladder match is up right now. Sabin and Shelley bring their own ladders to the ring. Shelley retains the X-title in a good match. Post match has ‘Suicide’ coming out and taking everyone out. He is shown holding the title and then disappears.
LAX are in the ring to cut a promo on Beer Money Inc. They have accepted an offer for their ‘Off The Wagon’ challenge.
Sojour Bolt and Rhaka Khan are out next to cut a promo on Awesome Kong. We now have another Knockouts tag match with Bolt and Khan vs. Raisha Saeed & Awesome Kong as they come to the ring. Sojour Bolt and Rhaka Khan get the win after Bolt pinned Saeed. Post match saw Kong come in and clean house.
We start things off on the second iMPACT! show with Kioshi making his TNA debut against Alex Shelley for the X-Division title. Shelley won via a jump from the top rope. Shelley retains the X-Division title but Suicide comes out after the match again and takes out Shelley and Sabin. He disappears again after laying them out. This could be a TNAWrestling.com web match?
Kurt Angle vs. Sting contract signing is up next. Jarrett is out first with the contract in his hand. Next out is Kurt Angle w/ the Main Event Mafia and several security members. Kevin Nash says this match isn’t going to happen. Jarrett calls out Angle and the Main Event Mafia telling them that he is the godfather and the mobsters aren’t running things, he is. Jarrett tells Angle that he has no balls and to sign the contract. Angle then signs it and attacks Jarrett. Foley comes out to help and is put in the ankle lock by Angle. Sting then comes to the rescue. Sting comes down and blasts Angle with the black baseball bat. Sting then helps up Jarrett and signs the contract. He puts it on top of Angle who is laid out in the ring from the baseball shot and then leaves. Sting turns on Angle!
That ends this weeks iMPACT! taping.
We’re not done as they are taping half of another show. Stay tuned!
In between shows, JB comes out and says the second iMPACT! main event will be Angle vs. Jarrett. Don West is back at ringside.
iMPACT! Results (3/5)
Lots of tension at the announce desk between Mike Tenay and Don West with screaming back and forth at each other as we begin.
They now do the opening intro again w/ pyro. Things are way out of order tonight.
Mick Foley is out now for an in-ring promo. He introduces Sting. He thanks him for saving him last week from Kurt Angle’s ankle lock as the show was going off the air. Foley said that he watched the Academy Awards and Mickey Rourke nearly won the Oscar for The Wrestler. Foley said that the type of person Randy the Ram was could have been him if he hadn’t dropped an elbow on Sting back in the day. Foley said that back then Sting saved him and now he wants to save Sting. Foley says that he wants to think that we’ve seen the last of Sting as a member of the Main Event Mafia and that TNA needs Sting. Sting says that he appreciates the words but he can’t just let Angle control the Mafia and notes he has no problems with any of the other members. Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner come out. Nash said he thought The Wrestler sucked and tells Foley to shut up. He tells Sting that Foley is in the office and not really one of the boys. Sting says that Angle didn’t respect him when he spit in Sting’s face. Nash said they can battle and no matter what, the TNA belt will stay in the family, or Sting can turn his back on the family. Nash tells Sting that the decision is his.
Don West has left the announce table again.
Kurt Angle and Jay Lethal came brawling out from backstage in suits. Angle laid Lethal out and took his suit. It appeared this was something that started backstage that wasn’t shown live to the crowd.
LAX has both briefcases in their possession.
Beer Money Inc. vs. LAX – Match went back and forth with lots of LAX chants in between. Match ended in a DQ when Roode used a chair. Beer Money Inc. does the post match beat down on LAX. Team 3D runs out for the save. It’s Beer Money Inc. vs. Team 3D at Destination X.
iMPACT! (week 2) iMPACT! main event is being taped next. They will continue week two tomorrow night and tape week three as well.
Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett is the main event. Kurt Angle comes out with no music and no ring gear. This must be a street fight as there is no ref. This match goes all throughout the arena. Up the stairs, through the crowd, across the floor and then up another set of stairs. The match ends as they fight backstage and Jarrett throws Angle out of the iMPACT! Zone through a door. He then locks the door on him. Jarrett comes back inside the arena and celebrates with Foley and Team 3D for getting rid of Angle. That’s all folks!
See you tomorrow night for the rest of week two and week three as well!
