Promoter Upset w/ TNA Knockout, WWE Preventing Internet ‘Leaks’?

The following was sent in: “The Scream Queen” Daffney, aka TNA’s Gov. Palin, was scheduled for a booking with New Blood Championship Wrestling in Forest City, NC last fall. Promoter Bobby Causby, who wrestles as Rex Rumble, paid her all of the $250 up front in cash. The day of the show, Daffney called Causby to tell him she had a death in the family. While it is questionable if this is true, what is NOT questionable that she has neither returned the money to Causby nor has she honored the booking. Causby has tried repeatedly to contact her by phone and e-mail to no avail. Word has it that he is considering seeking legal action against her. Daffney and her boyfriend, Caleb Konley, have a less than stellar reputation with promoters. They are known to cancel bookings at the last minute and to be hard to deal with when it comes to working with opponents with whom they are not familiar. Konley, in particular, is also known for thinking he deserves better pay because he works for NWA Anarchy and is Daffney’s boyfriend.”

As noted on Tuesday here on the website, Vince McMahon was quite vigilant in making sure that reports of Edge working both Elimination Chamber Matches at Sunday’s No Way Out pay-per-view did not hit the Internet before the show. McMahon was unhappy to say the least (which is putting things mildly) when word got out on Christian being pegged as the guy who attacked Jeff Hardy near a stairwell on the morning of the Survivor Series pay-per-view. This led to a change in plans as Matt Hardy ended up with Christian’s spot on SmackDown and Christian getting Matt’s top babyface spot on ECW. To make sure that nobody on WWE’s crew knew what was going to happen, McMahon actually ordered the ring crew to put a monstrous tarp over the entire Elimination Chamber in order to prevent people from seeing who was in the ring as the wrestlers worked out how the match was going to be scripted.
