Former WCW Star Returning?, More On Noble’s Injury, RAW, More

Former WCW wrestler Van Hammer is coming out of retirement for a match against Champ Champagne at Maryland Championship Wrestling’s “Xtreme Measures” show on April 11, reports Kevin Eck of The Baltimore Sun. After Champagne won his match at Saturday’s show, he cut a promo on the former WCW wrestler, who was in attendance. Champagne said Hammer was washed up and compared him to Mickey Rourke’s character in The Wrestler. Hammer entered the ring, but Champagne fled before a fight could break out.

The WWE site provided an update on Jamie Noble’s injury from Monday night in his match with Mike Knox. An MRI exam revealed no significant injury to the Raw Superstar, who was hauled out of the ring on a stretcher following his match. “All of Jamie’s tests were negative,” Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com. “I expect him to be sore for the next several days, but I think he will do fine.” It should be noted that en route to the medical facility, Noble started to regain feeling in all of his limbs. Despite it all, Noble is expected to be back in the ring as early as this Monday.
