In Mike Mooneyham’s latest column for The Post and Courier, he talks about Christian Cage likely returning to World Wrestling Entertainment. Nothing’s official yet, but he’s expected to return soon to WWE. Mooneyham says Cage feels he has a good chance at making an immediate impact in WWE, and considering his age (35), this could be his last chance to do so. A number of top WWE stars, including longtime friend Adam “Edge” Copeland, strongly believe Cage can break into the main event. Sources say Cage recently realized that this could be his final opportunity to prove himself as a main-eventer in WWE and cement his legacy in professional wrestling. While TNA paid Cage well, a long run in WWE could ensure long-term financial stability for him and his family. Cage could resurface as early as the Royal Rumble when Jeff Hardy defends his WWE Championship against Edge. Cage is also expected to be revealed as the individual who attacked Jeff Hardy on the morning of the Survivor Series pay-per-view, setting up a possible Christian vs. Jeff Hardy showdown at Wrestlemania 25. Mooneyham speculates that brother Matt Hardy could also be revealed as the man behind the attack.
Elsewhere in the article, Mooneyham says Gail Kim is expected to challenge Maryse for the WWE Divas Championship.
