Jeff Jarrett allegedly wrestled at an indie show this Friday while drunk, then no-showed a show the next night, Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting. That’s according to Real Canadian Wrestling promoter Steven Ewaschuk, who booked Jarrett.
Ewaschuk alleged that Jarrett showed up late to the show in Calgary on Friday and appeared to be slightly intoxicated, claiming that his lateness was due to a customs issue at the airport.
Ewaschuk claimed that Jarrett then began drinking in the locker room and passed out, then had to be woken up at intermission to take pictures with fans.
Jarrett then wrestled a 20-minute match under the suspicion that he had still been drinking. When his entrance music hit, Jarrett didn’t come out and his opponent got on the microphone and said that Jarrett was getting drunk. Jarrett finally came out and had a sloppy match, some of which can be seen in the video below.
The promoter said that he paid Jarrett after the show and expressed his displeasure with the situation. Jarrett was also booked for a show the next night in Edmonton.
Ewaschuk said that Jarrett had previously told him that a border agent let him into Canada under the condition that he he had to be back there the next morning to handle a customs issue. They learned the next day that Jarrett had re-booked his flight out of the country and would not be at the Edmonton show.
When asked for a response by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Jeff Jarrett denied that he passed out in the locker room and said the promoter was an “amateur.”
As previously reported, Impact Wrestling announced yesterday that they have officially terminated their working relationship with Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer says that this incident did not play a role in Jarrett being fired by Anthem since the decision had already been made a few days prior.
