There was apparently an “incident” involving Braun Strowman and Karen Jarrett at a bar in Nashville last week, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
On July 17, GFW execs had meetings in Nashville, which happened to be where Raw was held that night, so WWE and GFW people ended up at the same bar that night.
As the story goes, Karen Jarrett came up to Braun Strowman and said that he was one of her son’s favorite wrestlers, then asked for an autograph for her son (who is also Kurt Angle’s son). Strowman apparently had no idea who she was, so acted “rude” to her (though to him, she was a stranger bothering him while he was trying to chill at a bar). It apparently turned into a scene and Karen “cut a major loud promo on him” for blowing her off. She then mentioned that she was going to tell her son’s father, Kurt Angle, about this. When Strowman realized who she was, he apologized and agreed to sign the autograph and asked her not to tell Kurt or anyone. She said she was still telling Kurt, and he said he’d get on his knees and beg her not to. She said she was still telling on him, and Strowman got on his knees in front of a bunch of WWE wrestlers and begged her not to. Karen Jarrett then gave him a lecture about not acting the way he did to a mother looking for an autograph, and Strowman apologized again. Meltzer says that the story will likely be denied by everyone involved.
