Jonathan Coachman posted on Twitter today that he will no longer be covering any WWE content on ESPN. In a tweet that has now been deleted, he said: “After serious sole searching have decided that I will no longer be doing Off the Top Rope or WWE related content. Will leave to the pros.”
ESPN’s website will likely still cover WWE, but Coachman will not on SportsCenter.
Yesterday, Dave Meltzer criticized Coachman and ESPN for not covering the Mauro Ranallo / JBL bullying situation and today, Coachman suddenly announced that he’s giving up WWE coverage altogether.
ESPN gets chance after chance to show balls but this will be another time they're showing castration tendencies. https://t.co/nk9SREhSqi

2 things: we don't report on rumors for any sport or company. And you getting "heat" for anything is laughable. https://t.co/9s4VK0fqLd

Good one. Ever watch your own morning shows? An announcer missing for a month is a rumor? https://t.co/V4E7F5ubKG

Coachman claims he's done covering WWE. Exactly how a media figure should react when a legit story involving a fellow announcer breaks.

I am SOOO over it. I put in way to much energy and content to deal with this any further. You are right. Only positive fans from now on. https://t.co/Hfav1StRxP
